I was in Walgreens today in the hair care section (I always look at hair care products in any store!)  Anyway, I saw the REVO Split Ender.  It only trims 1/8 inch of the hair. Removes broken hair fragments and works on any length of hair. 

So out of curiosity, I looked it up on the web when I got home.  I found a couple of websites that gave review from local news stations that put it to the test.

So "Does It Work?" We give the Split-Ender a "yes". Kelli says it would never hold up to professional use though. And to be fair, it's not designed to.

So what do you guys think?  Has anyone actually tried it?

I haven't tried it...not sure what site it was but there weren't great reviews. It was about a year ago...a few said the blade hardly trimmed anything. Also if I recall correctly, the split ender trimmed anything shorter than the other hairs. I guess you could try it out and always return it...just make sure to keep the receipt.

Wow, you are really inspiring me to get one?  I want to keep my ends trimmed, but why pay others, when I can do it myself.

Let us know how it works foryou Vanity...I haven't really heard any updates about this particular product.  Hopefully, they have made some improvements.

So Pheonix does it get all the split ends or does it take off extra hair that just happen to be shorter than the other strands? Do you still have to do the search and destroy method?

It doesn't distinguish between splits and regular hairs, long or short. It takes about 2 centimeters off each hair that pops up within it. There's a bump inside that makes the ends pop up to get cut. It's kinda like when you trim the splits by putting your finger under the hair, and loop it in  U to get the ends to pop up. It can get the hairs all at any length as long as you take small enough sections into the machine and drag it to the very end of your hair. It gets the long and the shorter hairs that way. You could stop in the middle if you only wanted to get the shorter hairs though. 

I used it to dust my hair every month.

wow, such a tiny amount!   I'm going to run back to Walgreens today and check it out.  I'll let you know what I discover

But I won't be using it until Easter Weekend, the first time I'm going to straighten my hair in a month, with my new tourmaline and ceramic flat irons

(Tip: The key to it is combing out a small section right before you put it in the teeth of the machine. Then it goes through smoothly, with no complication or unnecessary breakage. It is harder on curly hair... to get it to go through. That has been my experience. I always did it on my straight hair.)

My best friend has it and she hates it.  She says it doesn't work and she has type 2/3 hair type.

My hair is type 3b/3c, and it worked for me.

I wonder how she used it. It doesn't work on curl hair very well. It has to be straight, pressed, flat ironed or blown out.

IT WORKS!

Yeah, I tried it this morning (btw; Happy Resurrection Sunday!) and it worked well.  Only about 3 times did I have to grap the sisscors for spots it missed.  But I'm impressed with the results.  It did not cut length, just small hairs to make it look nice and healthy! 

Downside, it took me an hour!  Maybe I just have a big head and that's why! 

I'm so glad it worked for you!!!

It always took me a long time as well becuase I was trying to be thorough. I wish mine wasn't broken.
