OK.... I am in a bit of a tiff. I have decided to DIY - I was going to use shri*** but then I was reading all theese threads on pro tac and how easy it is to install. BUT I want something that last longer then a few weeks. What do you gals think about the delux u tip??? Or any other suggestions??? THANKS

If you are just starting out with DIY, you can't go wrong with the pro-tac method.  It will last up to 6 weeks, you may have to do a touch up on the top row, or if you add some small side pieces.

The delux U tips are a fusion method, and if you are just starting out you may have trouble with the back of your head.  My first DIY was shrink*** and it took me about 4 hours just to put in 97 strands.  It is very tricky getting used to working backwards, yes it can be done and lots of people do it, but they practice, practice, practice.

I am a total pro-tac convert!!!  It takes me less then 60mins to do  a full install, and if I am recoloring it takes me 3 hours for a takedown, color and re-install!!     Can't beat that for DIY!!

GS ! I have done fusion before and now I am pondering what to do next. The only question with the pro tac is can I wear pigtails with wefts? I am wondering if I should do micro rings instead. I have someone to  help me for the back so at least I am covered there... I wonder if mocro rings would be easier???

I put some microrings in the back of my head, I certainly wouldn't call it easy.......but it was much easier than burning my fingers off with the hot iron for shr***** or fusion.  If you can't see your fingers the iron is HOT lol.........at least with the microrings the worst you can do is pinch your finger hehe.

I found the silicone microrings to have unreal staying power.  I've lost most of the shrinkie bonds in 10 weeks (2 out of 10 are still in) and only 1 microring out of a few hundred.

Pro tacs will last you quite some time, same as my other methods, and
even if some start to slide or whatever, it's so fast and easy to remove
and install!! I can wear pigtails with the wefts, it might not be a clear part,
depends on how you want to wear them.

I love pro-tacs the most lately, but microrings are my second favorite, if
you can do fusion, you can do this. It's similar, but much easier without
the heat!!!

LONG HAIR- Where do you get your silicone micro rings from? I am ordering dlux hair tommorrow. I think I will try this first. I feel unsure about pro tac - how much to put on, getting it out, it falling out, etc. I have had micro ring before and it's my comfort zone...... But then again - you all look SOOO great with the wefts in!!!
