Hi!!  I want to order some of the lush that is on shrinkies.net, but I really need the #6.  Can I get the #10 and color it darker?

Thanks!!

Amanda

I've colored lush before, seemed to work out nice.

Great, thanks!!  Would I use a typical over the counter color(which I usually use on my own hair with no problems) or go to a salon?

Yeah, I believe on the lush I used a box color (feria I believe), then topped
it off with loreal's color pulse, which is like a toner. I never go to the salon
any more, but I do use some professional products, but the box stuff all
seems the same to me.

I tried bleaching some Lush, and let me tell you, it did NOT work!!  I turned the hair purple!!

Hopefully depositing color will work better!!

Thanks so much!!  I ordered it and can't wait to get it!!  Now I just have to battle the "first time DIYer" fears..

Oh, and I'm guessing that I color the hair & mine before install??  What do I do about roots?  I ordered the shrink*** and some micro rings to see which works best for me...can I color with those types of installs?

You gals are going to be sick of seeing my posts by the end of this project

You can color with those types of installs, I've did it before, no major
problems, just personally I think it's easier to do it before the install. The
hair is so long, it was like flipping all over, dye was all over my body and
on the walls, the sink, the floors, .

Also, I don't know about dye, but I know with bleach, some gets under
the bond and eats away at the hair over time because it's hard to wash
out.

When you need to touch up you can just do the roots and not the whole
thing.

And don't worry, I was the same way when I started (well, still am now!
) I like knowing everything and planning, and being over informed,
that's why we are here!! So any questions, ask away!

(Plus, my car is in the shop, so this board is keeping me amused since I
can't do much else lately!! Cough, hence the 50 billion posts and
posting 30 seconds after the latest post )

Oh, I just realized the filler was in another post, I believe I used a filler
with the lush (I may have not had it on hand, I know I did the install in a
crunch) but usually it seems to help keep the hair more silky after dying.

But, maybe that was the reason I had problems with my lush compared to
some other people, who knows?

I dyed my #10 Lush so that it matched my newly dyed hair to #4 so I'm pretty sure you will be fine too
