OK, I have this issue. I'm a 22 year old male, and back in december of 2005 I decided to cut all my hair off. While I did enjoy my hair being short, I decided to let it grow back. However, ever since then things seem to have changed. Now, my hair isn't what it used to be. My hair doesnt seem to grow in fully like it should in all places. At the top where the sides are at, it seems patchy and there is very little hair. My hair is starting to recede (it did this once and stopped) and I fear I may be losing my hair. While my hair has always gone through many different changes, this is one I've always feared. I will admit my diet isnt all that great, and wanted to order viviscal to see if it could help improve the condition of my hair. Does anyone have any advice on what I could do to improve my situation?

Hey there, sorry to hear that you're worried about your hair.  Do try to relax, though, because stress will probably exacerbate the problem.

If your diet is not very good, I would strongly recommend increasing your 'good' fats from oily fish, unsalted nuts, seeds (especially flaxseeds) and olive oil, ensuring that you eat a wide range of fruit and vegetables of all different colours, staying well-hydrated with 3 litres of water per day and trying to cut out alcohol, caffeine and refined sugars or other processed foods as much as possible.  This is sure to help your hair and scalp health.

I would say, try this for a month before trying any special supplements.  I am a firm believer in diet as a cure-all.

You should also try to exercise regularly and get some fresh air and sunlight every day (not from a sunbed!)  Good luck.
