Hello People,

      Hopefully someone out there can help me out!!

heres my hair right now

right now i use a straightener (spelling) to keep my hair mostly straight. but at the end of the day it usually ends up looking like the pic i showed you. if i had to describe my hair style i would say its kinda thick and fluffy unfourtinally.

I have been conceidering getting an undercut to reduce the fluffyness of it but i dont know how it would look or if it would help.

what i really want is to have any of the folowing hair styles

do you think it could happen?
what would be the best pick for my hair style?

if possible what products would i need to use to do it if any at all?

any help would be very nice i love my long hair but its just starting to bore me so i would like a nice change

im guessing you use a cheapo iron if it curls up at end of day?
i used to do that and it sucked, and even fried my hair bad.
i recently bought a Solia @ folica.com, and it works great..
Went out in light rain, went to the car wash (crazy humid there!) and a night of breakdancin at the club.... Through these, my hair stayed straight as it was! But once its wet, its toast.

I would put my hair as your #3, and i have it undercut on both sides and back.. Basically hair on top only.. if i can figure out my digi cam again to transfer pics, i'll get you pics!

ps: i only use pomade in it when i dont want it waving around all over

I second the recommendation to use a good flat iron.

It looks to me like you have a fairly blunt hair cut, where as the photos you posted looked to be either razored at the ends or thinned out (which could remove some of the bulk and help it lay flat). 

You can add some weight to your hair using a nice pomade or hair polish.  Photo #5 appears to have quite a bit of either sebum or a wax/paste/pomade/etc.

I think with some good anti-frizz serum, a styling product for hold, a good flat iron, and possibly a bit of texturizing to remove a bit of bulk and thin out the ends you could rock one of those hair styles quite easily. 

I'd recommend going to a really good stylist that has a very good grasp of avant-garde and emo styles.  The salon I go to is staffed by stylists that all have very dramatically colored, artistically cut styles like that.  If you're looking for a salon, look for one that has stylists that have the look you're going for.  They're much more likely to understand that cut/style than a traditional beautician.

Once you find a stylist, bring along a few photos and have them show you how they create the style for you, so that you can do it yourself when you get home.

Also, if you know anyone with styles like that, ask where they go to have their hair done.  It's a good way to find a stylist whose work you've already seen, and who's going to be familiar with the style you want.  Be aware that it may require a bit more styling time in the morning than your current style, however.
