...it becomes less sticky?

I washed the weft for the first time tonight and it's a little sticky as it dries. Seems like it's no big deal and will just get pretty dry again, but I didn't want to blow-dry the roots because I'm wearing PH, etc.

In other words, it's cool to just air-dry this stuff?

I notice the tapes feel a bit sticky when wet, and less sticky when dry. Over time as the adhesive starts to break down I notice more stickyness. Nothing too bad. I am at 6 weeks with mine now and the bond area is a bit tacky feeling.

I blowdry everyday, so Im not sure about the airdrying. I use HH, but I can see why you wouldnt want to blowdry the PH.  My only concern would be if the tapes would be more prone to 'slip' more when wet, and with fine hair. But Im not sure, since I never airdry. Maybe another pro-tac'er can chime in here!

The thing I find works best to combat the stickiness that gets worse
through the weeks of Protac wear is keeping the bonds very clean. Every
time I wash my hair I shampoo both sides of the tape right to the root of
the hair, then rinse rinse rinse until everything is really clean. I notice less
itchiness this way as well, and also less tangling. Initially I was trying to
keep the shampoo off the bonds. In about two weeks they were nasty
sticky, especially in the hair right under the tape. So I gave them a good
wash and a TON of the stickiness came off, but got stuck in the hair and
made some nasty tangles. Now I clean them well every other day when I
shampoo and have no sticky problem, whether I blowdry or airdry my
hair.

Thanks for the info., girls!

It's much less sticky now that it's dry and seems to be holding well, even though I used conditioner on the tape (probably a no-no, right?).

I've found that using conditioner on the tapes doesn't diminish their
wear-time one bit. If anything it contributes to the shininess and
smoothness of the dried hair and helps to wash out the stickiness that
accumulates.

I let mine air dry quite a bit, and I don't think it gets any stickier than when I am blow drying all the time.  I think it is just the breakdown of the tapes over time.
