| Hair??? My stylist said she went in a chorline pool with GL fusion hair. Has anyone swam with them? She told me I could, I am scared to though. Of course, I would dry my bonds when I got out immediately. Any comments, suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks!! |

It is suggested to dry your hair completely after swimming,showering. I have never had any problems from a pool or the ocean except when I was body surfing in the ocean once, my hair got very matted after being out in the ocean for four hours! (I had fusion and wefts glued in.) It took forever to comb out. ------------- |

In a chlorinated pool my main worry would be drying out the hair, not
messing up the bonds. I would think those would be fine as long as you dry them afterwards. I have never had GL though so thats just my guess! |

Like Dunebug said about drying out the hair, that reminded me, i've always been told to wet the hair before getting into a pool or the sea. I'm not sure what it does exactly, something about the clean water opening the cuticles in the hair, anyway, try it, it definetely helps. |

Hmm, that would make sense. I guess it would saturate it with clean water
so it wont absorb the chlorinated water as much. Good call! I think there are products you can use to protect your hair from pool and sea water if you do a lot of swimming, I remember reading about them in magazines and stuff though I dont remember any names.... like a sort of barrier product. Maybe someone else might know.... |

| The only barrier type product I used was an oil-based spray by Kerastase, meant to protect from sun, wind, and saltwater damage. I wouldn't get it near bonds. I'm sure it would soften them. It made my hair pretty greasy. But there are probably a ton of other products out there, too. |

Elvira, what kind of glue did you use for the weft that held up in the water for 4 hours? If I can find a good glue method to get me through the summer.... I will definitely go back to the protac in the winter. ------------- Thanks, JeepGirl Current install-Bohyme Bodywave #30 and #14 in the straight hair/ they didn't have the #14 in bodywave, so I mixed them...works great! |

Last week, I went to the beach for vacation, I also swam in a chlorinated pool, and went under quite a bit...I had my extensions (wefts on protac) in a braid...and after I got out, I took a shower...I had no matting at all...
Was very happy about that:) |

I went on vacation with GL's in, I swam in the pool and in the ocean. Had no problems with the bonds or even too much matting. The only thing that I had problems with was my snorkel mask pulled 2 bonds out, I never felt them, just saw them lying on the tour boat floor!! I was more embarrased than anything!!! I have yet to swim with my protacs, but I am going to a resort this week end and will be swimming, I will bring extra tape!!! |

| I have worn GL for over a year and I swim in my pool and use the hot tub all the time, I have no problems, as long as you use a good conditioner and keep the hair moist you can really do anything with GL. |

Yeah, I think you would be okay. I've went swimming with cheap hair, and
GL seems like good quality hair, so I'm guessing you will be okay. I just kept mine in a braid so it wouldn't tangle or anything. The only problem I had was my pro-tacs slipped because I had it wet for a while. 
Edited to say I didn't have any "protector" type of thing in at that time. But, something oil based would prob help, I love using redken sun protector on it just for everyday use. I think if I go swimming or to the beach again, i would use that. |
