hello all, Well...I did my install yesterday afternoon. My first protac. Had acouple of 'issues'.....in that my client has extremely naturall curly hair and very thin hair on the crown. The back and sides went well, although I did notice that some cross hairs were stuck in the tape that didn't belong, causing some random hair (I was careful with sectioning, but with the curlie-curlie hair it was almost imposible to keep from happening) pulling on her scalp (ouch!). My biggest problem was / is....I could see the celephane of the tape...very pronounced, up on the final top most level. Also, there was just no way I could conceal her thinning crown with this method, as there was not enough hair to cover the tape. She shampooed it this morning and we spoke about it a minute ago. She wonders if I couldn't attach some wefts (tiny ones) to the top crown area. I'm wondering about doing this. Do any of you lovely little hair angels have any ideas about this?

xoxo autumn

ps   for yrs. I've done strand by strand, fusion (keratin) and links on her...but it's rough on her fragile hair and scalp. I am hoping protac will give another choice...I'll have to wait and see how she fares with it.

I know some girls have talked about cutting the Pro-Tac tape in half for the top row, meaning only one side is stuck to the client's hair and the top layer that's visible is the weft, not the shiny cellophane.

Yeah, the half tapes help a lot, letting me get them higher up. Another
thing I just love (I like having extensions at the top, it makes my hair
looks so much fuller!) is putting one top layer of clip-ins of the same hair.
That way, it covers the protacs and the only thing that would be visible is
the track of the weft (which usually up right next to the scalp it isn't quite
as visible)

It's my favorite, plus, you can kind of push the clip under the tape, and it
stays in without pulling, and you can't even feel it's a clip in! It's amazing,
I've left it in for days (sometimes I would forget about it!) and have had
zero problems!! Hope that helps, I know it's frustrating when they show
(my boyfriend would always tease me and ask how my head surgery was
healing when they were showing)

I cut  and use only half of the protac. But still folding it over the weft and sandwiching it the same way as I would the full size tape. Also on the top row due to visablility issues I use LG to bond the top row, which is fine in light colored hair. Id suggest chrissyv glue for darker hair.
