Well, I've had the same hairstyle pretty much all my life and I think it's really time for a change... Does anyone have any ideas or tips? Here is a pic of how my hair is now...

Cut short and combed over (to the right). So, does anyone have any ideas? Prom is coming up next week and I figured I'd see if I could find something new. Thanks everyone :)

Hmm, I think your hair looks kinda nice as it is, you could just play around with it and see if you come up with something you like.....maybe try bangs or something? I don't know....!

What about doing something a little messy, yet structured?

I agree that your hair looks very good now, but I can remember always wanting to do something a bit different for prom.

If your hair's long enough on top (which it looks to be) you could use a bit of texturizing paste to do a short fauxhawk-ish style.  Just sort of work the sides up and towards the center, pulling the hair at the temples forward slightly, then working the top into a fauxhawk.  With your hair as short as it is, it probably wouldn't be a very dramatic fauxhawk, which would be good for something like prom where a very dramatic, showy hairstyle may not be appropriate.

It looks like you've already got a bit of texture in your hair, so you may not even need anything cut.  The most I could see you needing would maybe be a bit of razoring at the ends for texture.  It think it could look good with your hair color and thickness.
