Stop cutting and cliping your hair just let it grow. No one hair can be even just treat it and it will grow.

My hair is not the same length all round . My back is past BSL and the front and sides are no where near and this is fine . I trim my ends and when i say ends i mean 'nip' my ends, say every 6mths just to get rid of those tacky bits that naturally appear after combing  or exposure etc. I was made to understand that if you trim or nip the ends it promotes growth becuase if your ends are in the slightest damaged or dry ,it can move up the hair shaft and block healthy growth to the rest of the hair ( i guess like a rusting pole).

My hair in in c.rows and when i redid them. i spayed the ends damp and nipped each plait. The ends of my hair swell and become denser  and thicker.

I guess some people trim and it works for them and others don't need to at all !

For me, I have to clip the split ends.  But for evening the ends out, I would hold off.  But hey, do what works for you.

True, but you should still trim your ends...cutting them only makes your hair shorter but with a bunch of split ends, it's not healthy and will eventually break

Wow, that's just the oppisite for me.  When I started clipping my hair really started growing, or should I say retaining length because it definitely dosen't make your hair grow out of your head faster, lol.  I only trim when necessary and I don't take a lot off.  If your hair isn't damaged I guess you could get away with not trimming but if it is it will only get worse if you don't trim it and it will eventually break off.  This was the main reason my hair stayed the same length for years.

I had a hairdresser who used to chop all my hair off after every relaxer, claiming they were split, my hair never seemed to move, since I've been braiding myself and trimming myself whola! I have hair, I'm definitely a big fan of dusting and clipping I think it makes for healthy hair growing, by the way I still go to that hairdresser she's very good at relaxing but when it comes to a scissors getting near my hair these days I'm not trusting anyone but MELOL
