I've started straightening my hair and its giving me split ends. Is there anyway to prevent them and get rid of the ones that I already have. |

Split ends are permanent damage and cannot be repaired, only trimmed off. To prevent split ends, you'll want to straighten less often, and use a heat protectant. HTH ------------- http://anaissatin.livejournal.com">  my LJ , 40 inches long

Hi anais I have a question. Even though i don't abuse my hair with heat, could putting gel on the ends cause it to split so much that I need to trim my ends every week? I trim my ends one by one in front of a white light every week because even though it isn't noticeable at all because my hair is not pin straight, I still do not want my hair to get shorter from breakage. I want to flat iron my hair but my weekly splitting is making me reluctant. ------------- kimberly gonzales |

Anais is right, the split ends must be trimmed right away (sad to say). And if you want to continue straightening your hair it is crucial that you invest in a good heat protectant like Biosilk eg. right away.
