Subject: Thin Hair on right side

I have been wrapping my hair on the right side for years and that is where my hair is so thin. On the left side my hair is more thicker, longer and full. When I try to wrap on the left side it won't work and it hurts. So as of today I'm not wrapping my hair anymore..but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how I can restore thickness to my right side...thanks

Lol I did write a little big huh>? I've seen the temple balm around and it is pricey but the problem isn't with my hair line. Its the ends. my ends are soo thin on the right side and when I comb I have a bunch of gaps btwn the hair. But, the temple balm could work on that area?

Try using castor oil or vitamin e oil on the side that is thin.

I have the same problem.  I"ve wrapped for years from right to left and my hairline is thinner on that side.  I hate it and I'm trying to thicken it up.  I'm scared to wrap now.  I tried wrapping it the other way (left to right) but it just wasn't happening.  I don't have many suggestions but right now I'm using castor oil.  I'm researching some essential oils and I might add some rosemary oil to my castor oil to help stimulate growth.  I'm thinking of trying emu oil also.....I don't know.

Great hair pokahontas!  I think I may have worded my problem wrong. I don't mean thining at my temple area, I mean thinning at my ends but only on the right side and its driving me crazy because the left side looks so much healthier. I'm gonna do a pre poo treatment and deep conditioning today but, I would really like to lay off the heat. I don't know how b.c when I air dry its a disaster and that is for most ppl. Thanks for all the advice ladies! I'm open for more advice

Okay, gotcha.  I just assumed it was at the temples.  A lot of people have problems with their temples from wrapping too much.  Thank you for the complement.  Yea, laying off the heat would definitely help.  A lot of people do have problems air drying.  The only problem I have with it is that it takes toooooo loooooong!! lol  I air dry in two braids and this works well for me.  It makes flat ironing a lot easier because my roots are already pretty straight when I take the braids out.  If you have a problem with air drying and making your hair feel dry, try using a moisturizer and sealing it in with some type of oil (on wet hair).  I tried that and it really helped out a lot.

When I had a perm and wrapped every night, my hair thinned in the crown area.  It also thinned from hair stylist mishaps... I'm natural now and it seems to be growing in very thick.  I've also added rosemary oil to my conditioners and oil.  I also prepoo with castor oil... CaramelDiva's suggestion...

ORS temple balm, nioxin follicle booster, nexxus biotin creme.

I'm using nexxus biotin creme for my temples and nape and there's plenty of new growth after a week.

Poka, you took the words right out of my mouth, rosmary and castor oil...

but since the problem is at the ends, NO HEAT and reconstructor or protein treatment.

You know whats really weird about this,, my hair is
thinner on the right side also but I do not and have
not wrapped my hair,, isnt that weird??? it just
always seems flatter and a bit thinner and theres
even slightly less hair in the hairline on that side,, I
have been thinking about trying castor oil since I've
read it stimulates hair growth ,, people use it to grow
back their brows faster if they over tweeze,hmm....

Yea, that is a little strange Cookie but I definetly think we should get some of this castor oil. Can it only be used as a pre poo or can it be used daily?

I'm pretty sure every dept. store that has a pharmacy should have it.  I got mine from Wal-Mart.
