This will be my first time having fusion extensions installed in my hair.  My stylist told me she removes it by applying a special oil to the bond and then sliding it out.  She showed me another client's hair and it was not damaged.
My question is will this method be safe for my hair?
I am very afraid to lose any hair.  Or should I just get a sew in?

This sounds like it may be polywax tips.  They are damaging to the hair.  Do a search on them.  You'd be better off using keratin fusion.  They are removed with acetone.

If you have fine hair, sewing is hard on the hair.

Have the stylist apply one to your hair and you wear it for a day or so to get the feel of it. I like fusion to a certain extent but there is a pro's and con to each type of method. Please make sure you ask questions, when you are paying that type of money you must have questions. This board has been very informative to me and I am a stylist, so be careful. Oh yeah if you are going to get a sew in and your hair is fine, your stylist should braid your hair up and then sew the net over the braids. There is less stress on the hair and the tracks can be sewn closer together.
