Hello, this is my first (hopefully not last) time on this site, and could do with a lil bit of advice...

So, since I was about 9 years old, I've always had short hair; no more than two inches on the top and that sandpaper feel at the back. Around December last year I decided to grow my hair, my ultimate goal being something like Kurt Cobain...

Anyway, when it started to grow, I realised that my hair is quite curly, so it grew out more than anything. That was fine, as I knew once it got long enough the weight would pull my hair down. So...it got to the stage where it was a nice big curly mop, and I was happy with it. But, I thought that it could do with a little tidy up, just to guide it on the way. So, I told the barber what I wanted etc, and he ended up cutting it to what it was like back in december =/

So, as you can imagine, I'm rather annoyed!

I was just wondering how long it will take to grow back to what it was like. Will it take another 5 months, or will it grow quicker?

Any advice or tips would be greatly appriciated!

Hair grows an average of 1/2 inch per month.. that's if your hair were straight. So you'd have to account for the curls when estimating. Divide the total length by 1/2 and you should get the number of months.

Oops...I think Anais meant 'divide the total length by 2'!

Good luck with your growing!

Thanks...my hair grows quite quickly...but with the curls it looks shorter!

Hopefully it'll be back to normal in a few months...

Sorry for the confusion. To divide by 1/2 is to multiply by 2. I should have said "multiply by 2" instead of "divide by 1/2"

Take the number of inches you want to grow, multiply that number by 2, and the result is the approximate number of months.
