So, I'm three weeks into my install, which for me is time to take out
the very top wefts and do a color touch-up. I've been struggling with
how to hide those top wefts and came up with the idea to LG one
single weft (with LG just on the underside) right at the top of my last
Protac tape. (Update later on if this holds up and works okay...so
far, it looks amazing.) I didn't have enough of my last batch of hair
left, but have a gorgeous pound of Amm's Elite Remy virgin just
waiting to be colored, so I thought, what the hell...
Coloring that stuff was the easiest thing in the world and it came out
really beautiful, more closely matched to my own color than anything
so far! Per my colorist/stylist's instructions, I used 30 V. developer
and my usual Schwarzkopf color (I use 10 V. with my own hair.) I
left it on 30 mins. with blowdryer heat on the foil packet for the first
20, and voila! A perfect match! The hair held up well, too. Like the
other Elite Remy I darkened a few months ago, it was a little dry
after the first wash and conditioning, but I know based on the other
hair that after another conditioning or two it will be shiny and smooth
as silk.
Just wanted you dark-haired people who use wefts to know that at
least if you're coloring only a level or two or just wanting to add a
slightly different color to match your own hair (Mine is a Level 3
Copper/Gold/Brown) this hair will work for you even if you're clueless
about using coloring products. I'll try to post pics after a few more
conditionings and when I can figure out how to switch my digital
camera to a lower resolution setting.

Can't wait to see it. I agree it's a breeze to color.
It's not virgin...it's been processed for texture. :)

I couldn't wait until tomorrow so I ran my 2" curling iron over my
new hair just now. Oh my! This hair is so sleek and shiny! I'm like
an adolescent these days--can't keep my hands off my hair, am
constantly playing with it.
My mom saw my long hair for the first time recently. I was sure,
being as conservative as she is, that she'd think I was being silly and
vain having extensions "at my age." But she said my hair looked
better than it ever has in my life! She couldn't keep her hands off it
either. She's always had fine straight hair like mine. At one point
during our lunch, she touched it once again and said wistfully, "it's
like a dream come true, isn't it?"
I'm so glad I didn't wait until I really was too old to have the hair of
my dreams.

OOOOOHHHHH, thank you! Gosh that hair is pretty! I'll be dying a
big batch soon and will post the "after" pics then.
