I went into Rite Aid, and grabbed the first hair scissors, Goody Precision Scissors for 12.62. |

Yeah 13 bucks is alot for hair scissors, my scissors are like 10 years old, and i paid 7.99 for them. Recently, my cheap behind went to the dollar store and bought some hair scissors. They work fine, their sharp enough. ------------- Loveya4ever http://public.fotki.com/redhotlala/ |

Don't trim your hair evenly across. Take time and trim it in small sections. Only take the damage ends off... dont try to make the hair even.

Honestly, you need to clip your ends in a really bright light so that you can see all the split ends and broken off pieces. Most of the time, you can feel damage ends by tounching them...If its dry, rough, or hard compared to the rest of the hair, its probally damaged. Do really small pieces at a time. I noramlly do pencil size sections. You take the sections and kinda twist the hair around your fingers until the broken hairs stick up....Cut all frayed hairs that stick out. Its really time consuming, but its better than cutting healthy ends off that dont need to be cut, and you keep your length. ------------- Loveya4ever http://public.fotki.com/redhotlala/ |

I plan on getting some trimming shears from walmart for about $6. If they are sharp they should be just fine. ------------- Goal:Waistlength Natural Hair! |

How are you supposed to do that when you cannot see the back. I'm not really worried about length..I'm worried about health at this point..and I am only going to dust. And the idea of cutting off all the frayed hairs doesn't sound too effective to me. And doesn't sound like a good idea for a first timer. It seems like I'd be cutting off unnecessary hairs that have been trimmed before and are shorter than the rest of the hairs.. I plan to just section..and snip...every picece of hair. Just to get things back on track to growing somewhat fuller ends |

I'm sorry. I am just nervous and clueless as to why people cut the frayed hairs like that..doesn't make sense unless they are damaged or you are trimming them back..I'm only going to dust

When my ends are damaged, they stick straight out and i clip them off. Trimming like that is just easier for me to do.

Girl, the trim was long . It went swell and my ends are in better condition ..but there was this one part that I clipped off way too much almost an inch.. but I cannot even find it now..so I'm not going to worry. Everything else was just a brezze though. They could use a little more work..with me treating them a lot better.

Im glad to hear that you ends turned out good. See, you were panicking over nothing. Yeah, dont worry about the 1 inch piece, the shorter sections always blend right back in. It grows back, you wont miss it much. Yeah I did panick over nothing. But you have to understand, I don't cut hair, and get a little paranoid when scissors get near my hair, even though I don't have much hair to cut! Thanks to scissor happy stylists in the past!
