I have natural black hair, and I used to dye my hair brunett. I got lazy about it and hadn't dyed it for 6 month or so, so the root were growing out and started to look funny because half was brunett and half black with a distinct line in the middle of my hair.

Now I was thinking of going back to my natural color, and I didn't want to dye it anymore, but I had to so something about the half brunett half black line around my ear level.

SO
I dye my hair to my natural color; black. And i have chosen "natural black", but the result was HORRIFYING!!!
That color looks so EVIL.....I look EVIL.....it just does not suit me whatsoever. And I doubt the color is so unnaturally darker compared to my real hair. It's almost blue black, the color I always abhorred.

But it did not end there. I decided to fix it myself, and the very next day, dyed it again with brunett....now my soft roots are brunett but the body is still pitch BLACK!!! I guess I just added more color to make it even darker. silly silly silly me

Question:
1. what's the best way to handle this situation without damaging my hair?
 i) washing it 10 times a day
 ii) redying it (how long do I have to wait until the next dye)
 iii) bleaching it
 iv) use hair color remover (medicated shampoo?)
 
I'd rather wear a ponytail or bun forever to maintain the health of my hair than do something that would damage it. But if there is a way, I REALLY want to go back to the perfect world when I had perfect gorgeous healthy hair every day.....(ok I exaggerated a bit)

i am not a salon-goer, but i'll see how much they will charge me
if the price seems unreaonsable(yes, the health of my hair is invaluable but i am kind of anti-spend-hundreds-$ on my hair type, you know)
i will try to colorfix it (i bet that's a hair product, right?)

but for the time being
i will wear my ponytail and see if the color grows on me
i just needed natural black not blue black,
which i hope is only a few shampooing away

even if i like messing (this time literally T,.T) with my hair
i guess i never had a crisis situation like this
expect for a disastrous hair cut....(well it was really unfashionably short and i could not cover it expect with my bandana. depressed for a month, and that trauma kept me from going to a salon for a few years....)

anyways, i will try to look on the bright side (well bright side on my hair is the root now...sigh......)

but actually i am not too pessimistic about it
as long as wear a pony tail, pin my bang to my hair, and keep the mirror away from me
the world is still rosy ^,.^

but then i think i used to have gorgeous healthy hair
that i could wear down and walk down the street with price

now i look like a bookworm in a sweatshirt (of course with my pony tail and pinned bang, and amazing how my hair color limits me from wearing certain clothes)
who does not care how i look like
which is not true!!

so i will study your words
and try to decide best for my beautiful hair hidden behind this tragic black then brunette mess of colors

i still have my cannot-be-darker hair, pony tail, pinned bang
well it is not too bad
i guess i am getting a little bit used to it
and i also started to wear cute clothes again

like hannebash said, i was also hoping it to fade but
i think it ain't gonna happen in a few days
and why do i have to put up with a 40% perfect hair
when i can have 110%!!!

and i can't figure this out
but yesterday i had my hair down to dry
but when i passed by a kid, about 5 years old,
he pointed his finger at me and laughed at me
so i stock out my tongue at him
so that's even
but i still don't know what made him laugh...........not that i care......but i don't think i have a laughable face.....so is it my hair.....?.....it's mind bothering.....that little brat

BTW, i have so many spelling errors on my last post....kinda embarrassing *,.*

so there is an ending to the story;

a week ago, i bought 2 colorfixes

i did colorfix once, and because the color was uneven, i dyed it to the color that i wanted

but the result was back to black T,.T
so i colorfixed my hair again
and i become medium brown, a bit brighter than the color that i usually do, and also little uneven

but since it is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the total blackness
that's the state i decided to live with
since i was afraid to dye it and became surprised with the result
and being afraid of damaging my hair with too much chemical processing

now i am VERY happy to be back to my lighter color and now it finally feels 110% perfect
