what thread do i use ? needle? how do i sew them on? *by hand*

i have no sewing machine either....

how do i sew the layers of the weft together to make it thicker like metalgirl was talking about?? im so confused... im sorry.. i wish i could buy the premade onesbut i dont have enough money for all that...( this is pretty much for prom and ive already spent $3000 on it... i cant spend anymore )

I'm not sure about the hair, most beauty supply store hair is cheaper
quality of hair, but, I've found that it's generally okay for clip ons (that's
what I use to make clip-ins).

So now you have the hair, what I would recommend doing is thinking
about the length you want each section to be. I usually make some longer
ones that are about 5 inches or so (basically that wrap from my one ear to
the middle of the back of my head). I've found making ones that wrap
from ear to ear can be a major pain in the booty, but see what works for
you, everyone is different. Then I also make some smaller ones, about 3
inches. And tiny ones (that just fit one clip, about 1 inch sections) These
small ones work well putting them at the top of your hair and around
your temples where it's more delicate, so there's less weight on your hair.

Edit: Here's a picture that shows the different sizes I usually make there's
more than this, but it just gives you an idea:

Then, I sew two of the wefts together. (That's probably what metal girl
was talking about) It adds some thickness, but you don't have to do it.
You just take the track (the already sewn top part of the hair) and sew it
right on top of the other, or you can put it down a little bit if it seems too
bulky, and you sew it just like you would sew 2 pieces of fabric together.

EDIT: Here's a close up of 2 wefts sewn together, I have them slightly
layered and you can see the clip and how it's sewn on. Prepare yourself,
this thing is HUGE

Then, you simply sew on the clips to that top part (the track). You just go
through the little holes in the top of the clip and around like you are
sewing on a button or something. Once you feel it's on sturdy, you go on
to the next. Let me see if I have any pictures laying around....

Ok, here's the final product basically of one of my clip-ins:

Whew, after all is said and done, have you thought about doing a Pro-tac
install for your prom??

Naked Eye has it right on!

I basically did mine when I was making them the same way with the exception of I use LG (liquid gold) to bond two wefts together.  I hate sewing and they hold just as well.  Its a tad messy at 1st, but def faster!

You can also LG the clips on too, especially if this is for one night, but sewing on the clips is NO THANG!
