Hi all,

I have more and more white in my hair!  Just wondering what's the best way of colouring natural hair?  Is it really damaging?  And how often do you have to do it?

Also is it possible just to colour sections of your hair?  I'm not really concerned about the main body of my hair but at the front there is a bit too much white for my liking.

To be honest, colour or any chemical treatments can be damaging if not properly done, the maintanence, and how one takes care of the hair afterwards/upkeep. You have to make sure that your hair is in a healthy state before doing any color.

The best way is following the instructions that comes with the colour (or get it professionally done), if its your first time, have someone help if need be. Color and always follow up with a deep conditioning or hot oil treatment.

Yes you can colour sections or highlight certain areas, depending on what you want or the look your going for. You touch-up the color I believe every 6 or so weeks depending on your new growth. Also after the coloring try to use products thats made for color treated hair. I think thats about it LOL. HTH

Thanks - pretty much what I suspected.  I might try and hold off for a while as my hair is the healthiest and the most elastic it's ever been so I don't want to lose that too quickly!
