I got my hair relaxed 2 weeks ago and also cut into a short style 1 week ago. At the salon, the way the stylist did my hair made it very voluminous. Since then, my hair has been very very flat. No matter what I do it will look kind of voluminous for about 5 minutes, then it settles and is as flat as ever. I tried Big Trix Volumizing mousse (a product the stylist picked out for me) but it only work for a little while and then my hair was flat, sticky and dry looking. Very hard to comb through. Can ya'll recommend a volumizing product that won't make my hair frizzy, dry or crunchy?

first i would like to welcome you, i joined the forum last month and i've recieved so much from the rest of the ladies. im sure there is someone who can give u wonderful advice for your current problem.

What is your hair growth  regime, if u dont have one read the important forum topics

my suggestion to you, i hope it is helpful, but my moms hair was cut short as well similar to halle B's and it caused her soooo much money to style it on a reg.basis her hair is shoulder lenght now, with proper treatment of the hair and scalp.

whatever you do try not to over process the hair with a relaxer and then a texturizer to keep it curly. Happy hair growth!

I'm thinking a "product" isn't your problem.

People with relaxed hair tend to wrap their hair with scarves, which tends to flatten it.

If you set your hair on large rollers to dry it, maybe that would work.

I'm not a professional, so I can't say for sure.

I don't sleep in a scarf, even when I try, it always falls off about an hour after I fall asleep. I usually wash my hair once a week (I'm going to start washing at least twice a week). I switch between blow-drying it and air-drying it. But my hair is super flat when I get a relaxer. It holds a curl , but it doesn't keep it's volume at all. It gets a little more voume when I get a little new growth, but no enough to make a difference. I was looking for a product to try that wouldn't dry my hair out and make it hard.
