OK, so my friend works at a car shop, and they sell this hand product cleaner and he said to the people there "im so confident in this product to clean, i bet it will clean my hair"

Here's two links for the product
http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription .asp?9329
http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/household/bra nds?tbl=brands&id=16005014

he said he researched all the products on the net, and none seemed harmful. He also said this about it.

"got in shower wet hair grabed smalll amount of it worked it into my hands then rubbed through hair felt a lil like a conditioner no suds nothing but went easily into hair.
washed hair like normal was a lil hard to get out compared to normal shampoo. but that could be due to the lanonlin which works as a natural water repelent.
didnt condition hair afterwords as i figured that would cover up any shortcommings of the cleaner.
hair felt very soft and compleelty grease free.
after drying hair was a lil bit knotty but i hadent combed before letting it dry after combing hair was VERY soft and easy to manage and had No greasy after feel"

Just seeing what you guys think of my friends "new found shampoo"
One of those links i posted has the ingredients.
i believe this could make for a good discussion, sooooo DISCUSS!

Sounds interesting. I would think twice about using it long-term though because most hand cleaners /degreasers contain finely ground pumice stone.

excuse me- i do not work for them. You posted asked asking for advice and i responded with advice as to a website with a shampoo "replacement"- liquid castile soap and liquid black soap. It was not necessary for you to be rude and sarcastic to me as i was just trying to help you out. In the future i will not respond to your posts.

when and where did i ask for advice?

i merely posted this for him cuz he's not on this website, he's not looking for a replacement or advice on anything, just seeing what people here think of what he's doing

Good point.  It probably also contains harsh cleansers.  But if the mechanic's hair is short, he may not care anyway since any damage caused will soon be trimmed off.  I would only suggest him using such a product if automotive grease/oil has gotten on the hair.
