What ingredient in a relaxer makes the scalp burn? Can they remove this ingredient and have the relaxer still work effectively? just wondering

Because it contains a caustic chemical, calcium hydroxide. Either way, it's gonna burn. But necessary to break the protein bonds to make it straight to your liking. |
