is it advisable to use hot oil treatments on the damaged parts of ur hair? would it work, leave ur hair shiny and replenished with nourishment...or just leave ur hair heavy and oily-looking?
thanx in advance :)

It has been my experience that a hot oil treatment does wonders for dry/damaged hair without leaving the hair greasy.
Here is one of my favorite homemade treatments that works quite well:
2 Tbls. extra virgin olive oil 1 Tbls. honey
-Combine oil and honey in small plastic sandwich bag. -Heat water (one cup) until almost boiling. -Dip sandwich bag in water until oil is just warm. -Apply warm oil to dry hair, working from scalp to tips. -Cover your head with a shower cap and leave for 15 minutes. -Wash hair as usual.
NOTES : While hair is conditioning, you can hop into the shower or bath. The warmer the oil stays, the better it works!
If you have long hair, you can double or triple the amount of the ingredients, just keep the 2:1 ratio of olive oil to honey. Also, be sure to use the extra virgin olive oil so the mixture will not be too heavy.
Hope this helps. Good luck! :)

My roommate uses this V05 hot oil treatment because she dyes her hair CONSTANTLY!!!! She says that she uses the one where it heats up on your hair by itself and you don`t have to put it in hot water and she says it makes her hair feel like brand new.

There is this great oil from the Phytologie Company called PhytoSpecific. Actually geared towards hair that has been chemically relaxed, but works wonders on damaged hair. My favorite and a far cheaper product is Wheat Germ Oil. I wet my hair, apply the oil on the driest portions, put a plastic shower cap on and marinate in it over night. In the morning Ill wash my hair with a nice coconut oil shampoo... not the ends though. The shampoo rinsing through my ends is enough to cleanse them. I follow with an intensive conditioner like Framesi`s Reconstructor. This may be too heavy for most people, but I have very porous ends. For me it works wonders. Will give the Olive Oil treatment a try tonight! Good tip there. :-)
