Hi everyone!  My hairdresser, Lindsay, has been putting my hair extensions in for me for about 8 years now.  I taught her how to put in wefts and currently use Bohyme silky straight in 18".

She just recently attended a couple hair shows where Cinderella Hair and Hair Dreams were present.  Now she is thinking about trying fusion.  I told her that I thought that due to the cost of both methods that she would be better off learning to do fusion herself and using her own hair...that way she would not be obligated to charge those systems' ridiculously high prices.

Does anyone know where she could learn the fusion method on her own without having to be taught by one of these companies?

Thanks in advance!

Sure, she can learn right here on this great forum. Of course she will probably become addicted and spend most of her waking moments on this site and spend every penny on all the latest flavor of the month hair extension supplies. Eventually she will stop doing housework, going to the gym, calling her friends unless they are "into extensions" and is potentially at risk of losing her job due to the time at work sneaking on the internet to click to this forum. Her husband or boyfriend will become accustomed to the various piles of hair scattered about the house and will know that the piles of laundry that have been stacking up take the back burner now. She then will have a new type of glow about her that the gym or her man can't compete with. Her hair is long and flowing and nothing else matters!  She might gain a couple of pounds but she no longer cares. She just saved money from not attending a hair extension course.

Okay, that's me, I am a stylist. I spent $1000 bucks on four technique's and learned about the board afterwards. I have learned so much from this board. I am in my salon right now with the closed sign not on, and the other sign still saying closed. I am officially addicted. The advice that I would give is to make sure she is ready, because you can get so overly excited and overwhelmed and you can ignore a lot of things that need to be done. (hint)laundry, cooking and ect.......but I will say, on the serious note, that it is good to become certified in a method that is not binding you by a contract. Now she may want to become certified for her own sanity. Some places offer technical support for issues with their product. When your're charging anywhere from $400 bucks or more for extensions it's best to become as knowledgeable as possible before leaping because it can come back and bite you in the butt. Some companies require that all you have is your license, to order their prodict, while others prefer you take their training and are licensed. The bottom line is she has to have the sanity in knowing that she is comfortable in applying extensions and removing them and also educating her clients. I have ordered a lot of hair, videos, products and some weren't worth the efforts, but I know which one's to use. She can PM me if she'd like, I'd be more than happy to help her out.

Great advice Shiry!

I too, spend a great deal of time on these boards.  I spend most of my time lurking and reading..and have only posted a few times.  I have learned a great deal by reading..and now know what questions to ask.  Yes, I must admit...I take a peak or two...or three...or four at work to see what new posts are available.  My husband thinks I have an illness and just shakes his head when he walks by me and the computer...I just can't help myself.

OK, Elvira. Have you been snooping around at my house? I'm
looking for the hidden cameras you've hidden. They're here
somewhere for sure. You've been watching me!
