so recently I've been searching for the right styling product to use in my hair...I've settled on Aveda's finishing paste (organic flax seed etc etc)...but this stuff costs me 30$ for about one semester's worth....and being a poor student I just can't justify paying that much to make my hair stand up...

 

I was wondering if anyone knew any similar products (hopefully cheaper), and/or how to make this flax seed paste at home?

 

What I'm looking for is a softish but strong, pliable, product that leaves a matte finish...and doesnt flake...any help is appreciated, thanks
