Hello All!

If highlighted hair is dyed back to its natural color will that facilitate better hair growth?  My hair is currently ½ way down my back, but its growth seems to be slowing and I was wondering if no more highlights would help?

Thanks!

It could stop the damaged ends from breaking off. But stopping won't help the growth. Dying with chemicals does cause damage. Good luck!

The highlighted hair will still be highlighted hair, no matter what colour you dye it.  There will still be chemical damage.  If your goal is to grow really long hair, then I'd stop using chemicals if I were you.  Then again, if you really like your highlights, you could try and compensate by taking ultra good care of your hair to prevent any breakage etc.

Good luck!

Strictly speaking, highlighting your hair won't facilitate better growth.

Less harsh chemical processing will let it grow longer, and allow it to be healthier at whatever length it is.
