I'm just waiting to reach my mini goal of BSL. That should be towards
the end of this year though. Last time I checked my hair was 19" long.
It hasn't grown much since the beginning of this month and I usually
get like 1" per month so...I blame the slow growth on not excercising
and the stress from finals week. I had two finals last week and two
finals this week so the stress has been there for quite awhile...
And this just in...I barely got an A in statistics! YAY!!

I'm so bad.First I cut mine into a pixie. But then I went one step further and shaved it off.So I'm literally back to square one. I figured it takes a long time to grow out damage. So I decided to start out with virgin hair.. Its a good thing my hair grows really fast.Hopefully I'll be able to stick it out this time.
And congrats to all the great new growth out there.Everyone's hair is looking great.

OMG! I'm sure I remember something about you shaving your head once or twice before lhd wish I was as brave as you!
Glad to hear everyone is growing so well. My own hair has reached my
hips so I'm pretty happy as although I have a vague aim of trying out
classic length, I think I'll probably stick with hips in the long run.

I trimmed off about 2 cm this week but it's still at tailbone length, so that would mean my hair would have been 1 inch past tailbone before the cut... hmm.
And last Friday I did henna.
Things have been great I'm glad to hear that everyone's been making progress too.
Happy Summer

I was at 29" on April 20.
I hardly ever wear my hair down, so it's hard for me to tell if it's any longer unless I measure it. When I do wear it down, it's usually got a ton of braid waves in it, which is a bit deceptive on the length as well.
I got about an inch of growth between March and April, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll continue to grow that quick.
Only 6" left until 35" and tailbone! I'm going to stop there. I have no desire to worry about sitting on my hair or anything like that.

After several months of 3/4" growth per month, I'm at 20.5" with no growth to speak of for April......I suppose my hair's in a resting phase! I'm wearing it in braids a lot. I can't wait for it to be 22 inches (maybe 2-3 months away).

Oh my goodness gracious me Longhairdreams!!! How awesomely brave of you. It must feel amazing!! Are you constantly running your hands over your head?
Anais...how did the Henna go? Did it turn out nice?
I am 22 inches again (after my trim last week), and I really like my blunt/thick ends now. I seem to be growing horizontally right now (ie..hair is getting thicker rather than longer), but it's all good :D

I'm at 26.5 cm after an inch trim a week ago. It must be so exciting to start afresh, LHD. You're sooo brave, I could never do that!

It is pretty exciting to start new.It feels really good when your scalp can breath.Takes awhile to get used too.Plus my head is so much colder without hair, lol.

I just now measured, and now I'm at 20", and I think in Feburary I was at 18"... So, two inches in three months? I think the warmer weather is probably speeding up my growth, or something.

Sasumi, great news on your growth!!! You'll have to post a new photo soon!
Rini: My hair is doing the horizontal growth thing too - I was going to post a thread about this soon. The new growth is substantial at the top, but only a few inches long so it makes the top of my head look a little tufted or something. I'm trying to smooth it down whenever I can

I'M OFFICALLY BRA STRAP LENGTH!
I had a trim, but I don't think my stylist even takes a half inch. I saw her cut my hair, and I saw my hair hit the floor, but my hair is still bra strap length.
------------- Hair type: who knows?
Length: 23 inches as of 3/10/06
MY HAIR IS OFFICIALLY BRA STRAP LENGTH!!
Goal: Waist Length, which is only 30 inches so
ADVISE ME ON HOW TO GET JUST 7 MORE INCHES OF GROWTH!

No noticeable increase in length here. Terminal length natural taper kinda masks the existence of any potential increase in length.

Hi all, just crusing through and had to stop to say missrini - absolutely gorgeous color.
Dave beautiful waves - are they natural? ... and this question only comes because I'm addicted to scissors would you ever cut the thin ends of your hair.
I did just make 6 months w/o cutting though - my hair was braided so I could make it.

Thank you for the compliment, 1babydimple ... although I'm not quite sure what your scissor addiction has in common with my thin ends. (runs from scissors) Truthfully, I'm not thrilled with the thinness at the ends, and may trim it to knee-length some day in the future... but at the moment I'm in no hurry to do that.
The waves in the photo are only the result of braiding damp hair. My hair is naturally straight (About "1b" by a certain classification method).

Well Dave no matter what the waves are still beautiful. I'm attempting to get my hair back to BSL... but living in the SE with humidity and 90+ degrees doesn't make it easy.
Hopefully by this time next year I will be there or somewhere close. Pray I learn to trim not cut

Hi 1BD, I will pray with you. Trim only - no cutty. And I will also sweat, in the heat & humidity... I live in the swamp that the rest of the country refers to as Flori-duh.

Question for all - When my hair was much longer if I bunned or braided it wet, it stayed wet allllll day. My question is - How do you air dry your hair ? Or do you air dry? What products keep it under control as it dries?
If I air dry loose it will take me 4 or more hours to tame the beast. Actually I had to set aside 2 days - day 1 to wash and dry- day 2 to style. That's why I cut it. Don't want that again
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Hi again 1BD... if I braid wet hair in the morning it will stay damp until the evening. But the braid "tames the beast" so the dampness doesn't bother me at all. I never use a blow fryer. But I think using one would probably be okay if (1) the lowest heat setting is used, (2) a low fan speed is used, (3) the hair is detangled prior to using the blow fryer, (4) the hair isn't whipped around too much during the drying process, (5) you don't focus the heat on one spot for more than a couple of seconds, and (6) you dry it only until it is just starting to get dry... then I think it would be avoid causing any damage. One plus to its drying slowly seems to be that my hair stays cleaner. That's my experience, anyway.

Thanks again, maybe once I reach my goal I'll try blow "fryer" just until damp then braiding maybe it won't leave me with "wet head" all day.
