So the silicon microrings are smaller, but the protubes lie flatter...

Has anyone used both of these methods? Which one do you think was best?

I was thinking the main concern would be the hair slipping out, does the silicon in the microrings hold the hair in better? or is it mainly there to stop the metal shell damaging your natural hair?

Thanks

I have never used the protubes, but the silicone-lined microrings do not slip at all for me!  I even use conditioner near the bonds/rings!  I have to say, they slip less than shrinkies for me.

Protubes close extremely flat and do not slip!

I have used both on my clients, and I find that silicone line rings hold better.  Granted, they don't crimp down as flat, but for me, the 2mm diameter rings hold very nicely.

I've never tried any micro rings yet, maybe I'll have to give them a try, I've always heard the shrinkies were better, but I would think the microrings would be alot easier on a removal than the shrinkies!

Hmmm this is an interesting thread.  I have micro rings at home to use in a pinch when I lose strands before my maintenance.  They're really hard to work with, especially on the back of my head, b/c they're so small, I just can't get them very close to my scalp.  I have Hairlocs & I just ordered the smaller links b/c I thought they'd be easier for a novice like me to use.

But I've never lost a micro ring I've put in myself, & I lose about 2 strands a week w/the links my stylist put in.  Plus, if the micro rings are less damaging to the hair...........well, it seems like a no brainer.

I guess maybe I need a little more practice. Wink
