Hi Everyone, I want to say hi and that Im new to the group. I just joined today. My hair is now passing shoulder length after being cut last year. My hair texture use to be curly but now its slightly straight and curly, also very thick. I think this happened after the birth of my last child who is now 12months. Do anyone know what texture that is. I would share a pick but dont have one. Also I was looking for some suggestions on products, Conditoners(since i nopoo)
and so on. Also looking for things to help with dryness. If anyone can help id appricate it

For dryness of the hair- use a water based moisturizer(s-curl, care free curl, sta-so-fro, or just plain water/glycerin), then oil the scalp/ends (olive oil, safflower oil, coconut oil, palm oil, grapeseed oil or jojoba oil). Apply a thin plastic cap overnite. Cowash as usual in the a.m.

You can also do weekly pre-poo treatments on dry hair using castor oil, put it on dry hair and scalp- it is ok to saturate. Massage in. Apply a thin plastic cap. Put a satin scarf on top. Go to sleep- In the am - wash it out.

Alternative- on dry hair- scalp apply castor oil, apply a thin plastic cap and sit under a dryer for 15-20 mins prior to pooing.

And don't forget to concentrate on those ends.

Hi welcome to the site! All of the conditioners I use have alot of cones in them...but I read on another hair site that you want to avoid cones because they will cause buildup....if you wash you hair regulary it wouldn't be a problem but with your nopoo regime you want to look for a con that doesn't contain any.
