I think it also depends on which kind of hair you're buying. Some brands have more or less hair to the weft.

If it is any help, for my Elite Remy/Wagman hair at 14", 4 ounces = 78 inches. I'm guessing you'd need somewhere near 2 ounces, maybe a little less???

I used to use 18 inch hair and most of the 4 ounce wefts that I purchased were between 46 and 60 inches in width.

What to consider when ordering hair (human or synthetic)

Hair comes in a pack weighing approx. 1/4 pound (or 4 ounces)

For a full head of hair extensions  to be installed, approx. 8 0z of hair is used

(based on hair length of 16-20 inches)

 Two packs of hair at 1/4 pound would be a total of 8 ounces of hair or ½ pound needed

1KG=2.2 pounds

16 ounces of hair is one pound of hair

4 ounces of hair is 1/4 pound of hair

8 ounces of hair is ½ pound of hair

How many inches in width would be equal to a pack of hair? (1/4 pound or 4ounces)

One inch = 2.54 cm

12 inches = 1 ft

36 inches = 1 yd

3 ft = 1 yd

I just measured a weft 30 inches wide (this is folded over the way it is supplied)  18" and it weighed in at 100g which equals 3.5 oz.
