Hey all,

I've got this issue, okay, my hair is quite thick and wavy.  I'm finding as it grows and weighs on the scalp, the top of my head lacks so much definition and body.

It's really kind of stressing me out, 'cause I want long hair, but I can't really spend a lot of time blowdrying it, either upside down and/or standing while brushing the roots to the side for body. 1. 'Cause this is a real stress on my hair. 2. It takes me nearly 30 minutes to fully dry my hair with a blowdryer. - Yet I'm not so sure because I don't know if I've ever had the patience to do a full non-air dry!

My hair is lifted for about 5 minutes after mousse or rootlift spray application but rarely works to my satisfaction.  Hairspray is the best product I've found for my hair thus far but I really hate the stuff. ;p

I was thinking about doing a perm for all around body, but chances are I wouldn't acheive the look or feel I'm really aiming for...  -I was going to do an at-home process. Wink

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good tips or tricks for root volumising... even products which may help for an all-day hold...  I'd be so appreciative!

I can't help you with products, I suppose you've tried using a lot of gel already and blowing that dry, then combing out and using spray over it, and that's the best I could suggest.  It would give you hard hair.  But why let it bother you?  As hair grows longer, it pulls flatter on top for everyone, and people expect it to look that way.  It might look a little unnatural if you had a lot of volume on top with longer hair.  If you really don't like it, you may want to consider layers, as that would make it wavier on top, this would give you a bushy all over look however.  You may like that, and you may not.

How long are we talkin' here?  If its bra strap length or longer, you may not want to use a perm as they are very damaging, and that would take a very long time to grow out (and may give you a root line if your hair holds perms well).
