Subject: Washing out LG?!?! HELP!!

after 5 days for barbeque on the mississippi, my hair smelled like smoke and humidity. the only a/c i got was in the hotel room and it seemed like i was always down-wind of the barbeque smoker. but we got 6th place in the ribs competition, so it was worth it.
now the question: is there an easy way to wash my wefts???!
i took down my hair because every part of me smelled like barbeque. the hotel had greasy water, never was quite clean the whole time. so now my hair is squeaky clean. the take-down was a breeze thanks to Goo Gone (30min and i'm a newbie!). but the G.G. broke down the LG and now i have glue boogers all over my wawa.....
i think that's the most bizarre sentence i've ever written....
anyway, what's the best and fastest way to really clean old glue from a weft? should i even bother to REALLY clean it since it's gonna get glued and taped again anyway?
i'm going to stay home from work today if i can't deal with this soon....

This is going to sound weird but bear with me.
You know those dark green nylon 'scrubbie' pads? You use them to scrub pots and pans but they don't scratch like Brillo. To take the LG blobs off my wefts, I use Orange Glo cleaner/polish (or Goo Gone) and then go over the weft with a scrubbie pad - globs come right off! The scrubbies are so cheap you can just throw it out when you're done. It works great.
Hope that helps.

oh thank you thank you!!!! i was starting to freak out. i
left for work with my hair all over the countertops of my
kitchen. i was almost afraid that i'd have to go to my san fran
vacation sans my new, beautiful hair!
so i use the scrubbie to "brush" out the goo? do i use tons of GG, do i do it on a paper towel or anything?

Okay. Lay the weft along the center part of your sink - the part that divides the two sides. Spray/squirt GooGone along the length of your weft - get it wet. Let it sit several minutes - 5 is good. Then use the scrubbie along the length of the weft - 'scrub' a small section at a time. You'll see the glue ball up and come right off on the scrubbie. To get glue out of the length of your hair, just take a fine tooth comb and gently comb it out - it will slide right out.
Be sure to wash your hair and wefts VERY WELL to get all the oil from the Goo Gone, otherwise you'll have problems after installation - they won't stick well if there is residual oil on the weft so be sure to wash them maybe several times. I use dish soap along the weft, condition just the length, and blow dry.
Congratulations on the barbeque championship, btw. Sounds fun!

so i did the hair cleaning recommended by Syren, i got most of the boogers out, i should be able to remove the rest easily as i go. then i washed w/ dishsoap (my hands are pruney now) and spread them on my dish-drying rack to air dry. i'll probably install tonight or tomorrow.
the wawa's feeling pretty crispy after all those chemicals and washing (except the bohyme samples, they still feel great), is there anything i can do to mitigate this? or should i just use velvasil every chance i get?
it seems i learn something new with every install: -taking the extra time to sew your wefts togethor will probably save a lot of cleaning in the future if you're heavy haanded w/ LG -wearing extensions to a week-long barbeque competition is a stupid idea -the hair boards are wonderful -you probably didn't ruin the hair, you just need to wait for the replies -you only need a tiny bit of goo gone for a take-down -wash the hair in the sink WITHOUT the garbage disposal (those puppies try to slide right down the pipes!)
