I am in the process of trying to strip/lighten/get rid of the dark colors in my hair. I have about an inch of natural color growth and the rest is a multitude of faded reds and dark browns. My hair is down my back, so the different colors really stand out (it's embarassing sometimes but I am going to stick with it)

I was thinking with Summer coming up of trying lemon juice to lighten it up a bit. I don't want to strip my hair because it will really damage it
~has anyone tried lemon juice? When I was younger I used Sun In, it did the trick but did some damage. Is lemon juice less harsh?

Any feedback would be great. Thanks all

Lemon juice is only good for light and medium(sometimes dark)blondes. Anything darker will pull red and barely that.Lemon juice is very drying and harsh. Lemon juice wont do anything except make it look worse.

If you really want to even out your hair i would suggest getting Colorfix,or another stripper based on sulfur. It will strip out the darks and take you to an all over reddy orange. You can then put on a medium brown or darker.Or you can bleach and then tone.
If you do this dont go for a different kind Colorzap is awful and is basically bleach. It will leave you worse off than you start.I only reccomend Colorfix. Its very gentle.
