Its very light, and it is conditioning. As for smell, I like Aveda's fragrances, but that seems to up for debate, so you might have to judge for yourself. As for your earlier question about the forming gel, I have used that as well. I use it very sparingly, as my hair is fine. I think it does a good job of smoothing. I think I like Confixor better, for me. Its lighter. You might try to see if you can hook up with some trial sizes if you have an Aveda Salon near you. That's what I did to try both products.
