I am too much of a newbie to know if this is caused by cheap BSS hair...

I have 6 oz of machine weft BSS hair sewn into knotted tracks of my own hair. I have dry hair and my scalp has always itched a bit, but not like this. I do not have dandruff either.

I am going nuts here and scratching myself all the time. Not too attractive, huh? LOL

ANy tips from you pros on how to avoid this in the future and what I can do now for relief?

Thanks!

a little cotton puff dabbed in sea breeze or witch hazel (i just use whatever facial toner i have around) patted along the itchy scalp areas can help at least temporarily

Quick question, BSS = Bohyme silky straight?? Some say olive oil is good for an itchy scalp, not sure if youd want to use that with your extensions though!

hang in there, I think most of us go through those itchy phases at some point. I go through an itchy phase with EVERY install. Usually lasting a few days

I agree.. Also a warm water rinse can help with the itchies.. Or try a product like Dr Miracle's Braid Relief spray.. Great product.. Sometimes though when the extensions are brand new ya gotta just wait it out.. Things should improve by the 2nd week..

Whenever I use to get an itchy scalp from bss extentions i would spray infusion 23 on my scalp and it would stop the itching and put moisture back on my scalp.  Plus it's good for your hair.

Also keep in mind that if your scalp itches longer than just a couple of days then you may be allergic to the hair (bss hair is a combination of things, one of which you may be sensitive to)

itchy scalp--- oh yes...that has been ME the past 2 weeks! I have pinch braids and they itch like a mother. Now, just at 2 weeks they are starting to calm dowm. I think it must be the braid method that causes tension on the scalp...and the itchiness.
