Can anyone suggest a product that will protect color from the fading caused by the sun? I spend a great deal of time at the pool or on the beach in the summer. I love my current color and I don't want it to get too brassy.
I read that mixing regular sunscreen with water and applying to hair via spray bottle works. Has anyone tried this?

Honestly? Knock yourself out and try it. Just kidding. I wouldn't try the sunscreen idea because it could cause acne on the hairline and the temples, not to mention other kinds of rash if you are sensitive.
Maybe get a chic sun hat or scarf to cover your hair while you're in the sun. I don't think you'll be able to have both (1) a lot of sun exposure and (2) lovely color - just one of the two.

Thanks Anais.
I'm not a sun-worshipper by nature, but I swim, kayak, bike, and hike and these activities all increase my sun exposure. I'll try and rock the hat as much as possible!
