I was watching dateline tonight and saw something about counterfeit drugs from China, Colombia, and Central America,, and then coincidentally i saw and ad for Paul Mitchell where the guy says its only guranteed to be real from the salon,,, and thennn I remembered an article i read over at Longhaircareforum about these Asian beauty supply stores selling fake products including Motions and thats just disgusting,, I buy all my higher end products at 2 Korean beauty supply stores in NYC and last week i bought Keracare and thats expensive stuff and it might be fake and I bought my CHI there too!,, I think from now on im gonna stick to JcPenney for my higher end hair products becuz at least its more likely to be the genuine article,, Id hate to think Im putting nothing more than a sort of"placebo" into my hair and have spent all that money GRRRRRRR ( those Koreans are rude too!! and its funny becuz other Koreans know it LOL)

It is sad but true, a few times my hair stylist has gotten products from Korean beauty stores which were actually bottles filled with tap water.

Walgreen's usually has a lot of those products and CHEAPER. My regimen is pretty simple and I really don't have to go to those korean "MEGA STORES" full of things I don't need. I just get 3 or 4 products from Walgreen's and I'm cool.....and again, Walgreen's has it cheaper than korean stores anyways.

o wow, lol i think im gonna stop buying in these Korean BSS's ,, becuz drugstores sell quality hair products like Neutrogena and Motions and even Nexxus Emergencee now and the only thing im stuck on from BSS is K-pak and i can get that at Bed bath and beyond, i dont wanna be wasting my money on perfumed"who knows what" from the Korean places

Cookies I would be wary of by Keracare at a Korean BSS, it has been my experience that avlon does not sell their products to Korean BSS in TX & Ohio I was only able to get them from AA BSS and salons. I would think they would be fake or old. I pretty much stick to AA BSS or drug stores, I pay more but what can you do.

... There is this one store in Maryland .. It's the largest beauty supply ever(literally) Aisles upon aisles of products. I could spend ALL DAY in there. I first realized their products were sketchy when I saw a bottle of "activator"unmarked, attached to a perm tub *what the hell* It didn't look too justly..so I definitely passed that up. Not only did the professional products look fishy, they were definitely MORE EXPENSIVE. I was so over that. I still go in there because it's good place to waste time..but their professional products..are a little sketchy. They may be the real thing, just way too high when I can buy it for almost 3 dollars cheaper at Bubbles Salon. (Yes 3 bucks is a difference, for those of you who feel my pain).

OH NOOO,, i just recently bought a bottle of Keracare from a Korean BSS a couple of weeks ago and i used it and and didnt have a great hair week,, now i couldnt say whether its because the product is fake or just didnt agree with my hair but i have just lost my trust in the Asian places,, Bed bath and beyond sells K-pak too and CVS sells Emergencee now ,, tho I have seen some disgusting OLLDD Artec products in CVS so Im not sure if theyre trustworthy either,, o well,, im definitely gonna be more wary from this point on....

when you say "fake" what do you mean? The ingredients on the label arent what's really in the product? Please explain.

This is too dispicable for words that hair products for black hair are even fake. This has probably been the case for a long time so its best to buy your products where you are confident that you are getting the real deal

Im not really sure,, but Id assume counterfeit products do not have what the label says,, ex., theyre filled with perfumed water or something rather than all the good stuff on the label.. i dunno

I've heard about this before and I notice in most professional hair lines state to only buy the product from hair salons. I mostly use 'drugstore' lines and I'm suprised to hear about them being fake, I may have to only buy from Sally's.
