Have anyone tried sage tea for covering grey hair? I have waist length hair and I have been using a permanent colour on it for years. I would like to stop damaging it.    I have switched to a no-ammonia brand but I still would like to stop using chemicals.

I'm not gray yet, so haven't tried it, but your question peaked my interest.  I don't know if you've already read this article about it, but I found it the most informative article I'd read so far about what to expect and how to apply it (although I'd have to say the photos aren't that convincing)  http://www.newswriting.net/hair.htm - http://www.newswriting.net/hair.htm
Since your hair has been dyed and is porous, I'd still test strand it to make sure it doesn't come out a strange color.

I have to agree about the photos.  It seems like a lot of effort to achieve that result.  I wonder if the hair smells like an old tea bag afterwards.  It amazes me the lengths that people will go to in order to hide grey hair even when the result is temporary and not very real.  It took many years, but I've learned to love my grey.
