so im planning to take what's on my head now out of my head by the end of the week, and im thinking about all the things i can do while i have them out....which, of course, i want that time to be as short as possible and wouldnt it be great if i didnt have to actually look at my real hair in the mirror during that time but since im a DIYer i am trying to prepare for that too...

i was thinking that i will: do  a protein treatment, touch up my roots, put in a deep conditioning treatment and then get a good nights sleep.....free to roll around all over the pillow (not even a satin one if i dont want) without my hair all braided or ponytailed for once

i think the next day i will jump off the diving board into the pool with the kids for a while....and then finally get ready to stick more hair back in so i can be all purty yet slightly more uncomfortable again :)

what types of things do ya'll squeeze into that time between installs ?(assuming that there's more than seconds between the two !)

I color my roots, do a viniger rinse, do a good condition job, run a comb through to the scalp (just a lovely feeling), and reinstall the next day, after a good shampooing.

Yeah, I always try to leave it out as long as possible (about 55 seconds)
The pillow thing is always nice, so free, you can actually just go to sleep!

I typically, massage my head for about 5 hours, dye/bleach, color, deep condition, try to wait a little while before shampooing if I color so I don't strip the color. Oh, and just find pointless reasons to drive around on expressways with all my windows down and my sunroof open and just let my hair flap around, so free...

I take my extensions out last thing at night. I wash and conditon well. Then I blowdry my hair because I am so excited to see how much growth I've got since the last takedown! I sleep on it that night, and continuously run my fingers through it and scratch scratch scratch at my scalp, just because it feels so good. I never braid or pin up my extension hair while I sleep so sleeping without extensions isn't too different, but it is much cooler during the night with my little fine, straight natural hair. Then the next morning I wake up and look at my horrible nasty fright-wig mattress hair and can't wait to get my extensions back in. So, first thing in the morning I do my color, then condition, and have a good clarifying wash. Next, I GET THOSE EXTENSIONS BACK IN as quickly as I can. Whew!

Hey Kalika, What's a vinegar wash? Red wine vinegar? Balsamic? Malt?

What's weird is that I hardly wear extensions. I put them in when I have a night out or when I'm feeling like a change but pther than that I stay as  am.

Weird really. Plus I only ever use Pro-Flex. I'm a dreadful candidate for fusion or similar. I don't look after them enough so it's hardly a good advert is it!

I run the Hair Doctor Comb through my scalp over and over. It stimulates the scalp and it feels so good! I also get the gray out by coloring.

I used Apple Cider Vinegar last night after shampoo and it really clarified the hair and remove product build up. Also helped with the itchy scalp!

Malibu:  Apple cider vinigar or regular white vinigar works best.  Plus its really, really cheap.
