Hey everyone!

I am looking into getting new hair for an install shortly and was looking for an opinion.

I currently am using JetSet hair, which i LOVE!  I have also heard good things about Bohyme hair, which I have never tried.

Has anyone tried both and what one do you think is better quality?

I have both, although i have not put the JetSet in as of yet.

Side by side, the Bohyme body wave and JetSet natural wave, both on slim weft, are practically identical after washing (the hair, not the weft; those are slightly different). Both dry straight. Hair texture identical.

I took pictures this weekend but for some reason they turned out badly - I'll try again tonight so you can see how close they are.

Have not worn JetSet yet, but have worn Bohyme and it is just as reported - stays beautiful for months, even under my tortuous conditions. I've always liked Bohyme alot, but am always chasing the elusive "perfect hair" and trying everything that comes along.

I have been disappointed with Jet Set  with my last two orders from them.  The first order I wanted 2 ounces of 12" natural wave #4 and two ounces of  12"natural wave #4/33.  They charged me for that, but I received #4 natural wave in 14" and #4/33 in TEXURED STRAIGHT 10"!

Now, 10" is just too short, and Textured straight will not mix with the natural body.  The client wanted a wavy look, and besides, I think the textured straight is a yaki texture.

I emailed them and they were  be willing to exchange the hair, but there was no time to send it back and receive the proper hair back in time for the clients appointment.  I was mad.

Now this last order, I wanted 4 ounces of 14" hair.   The weft looked short to me, so I measured it, and it only measures between 12"-13", definitely not 14".

I'm losing faith in Jet Set.

I have just ordered for the second time from Jetset and let me tell you that their customer service is terrible, I ended up sending them (after numerous attempts) a nasty email asking to contact the manager and they ignored me completely..I required my order on a next day and after 12 hours had gone by they sent me another email stating the hair (they previously said they shipped) was not in stock, even after they confirmed and apologized...

After we finally came to a decision on re-ording another colour, they said they would ship and I left work for the day, the next morning when I was expecting my shipping they sent me an email saying my credit card was not approved.  I immediately called my bank as I knew it was impossible and my bank confirmed that no transaction was even attempted the previous day.  I immediatly sent an email to Jetset providing them with this information and asking what was going on and they responded later saying they called the Visa centre and it was declined..

Anyway, I was so upset and sent them another reply telling them it was impossible and again hours later they responded with "sorry but etc." I am not impressed what-so-ever.....

Hey everyone, thanks for all the replys!

WOW-I am really shocked with JetSet!  I have only ordered from them once, and then I thought the customer service center was slacking, months back.  The hair is fabulous on the other hand.  They too took ages to email me back.  After I placed my order the next day I received an email saying the address is unrecognizable by UPS, which is ridiculous b/c it was my work address and we get UPS packs daily.

Sherrie, let us know how things turn out between you and them.  If I choose their hair again, I am alittle leary of dealing with them now.......

Geeeez...just when I thought I'd try the Jet Set hair too!     Why is it some of these companies can't get it together? I need fine, soft hair for my next pinchbraid install! Maybe I would like Bohyme? Does anyone know the true country of orgin of the Bohyme? Indian hair is just so heavy for my hair....Chinese is too thick with no body. Does the Bohyme have a little body to it? I can't do the stick straight look. Good grief-- someone find me an unsuspecting Russian girl I can knock out and then rob her hair! That would be PERFECT!

Msfitns72, JetSet in my opinion, has GREAT Hair, but their customer service anymore is just really slacking.  One of my thoughts  is that they had more success then they imagined and maybe just don't have the hands to manage it all and keep it in order as well as keeping customers happy.

I understand companines can have a slip up here or there but this seems pretty consistent with them.  In the next couple weeks I will be needing to place an order for my next install and I really don't want to rule out jetset's hair b/c it is so nice.  I figure if I do order it (for my vacation) I will have to order it way in advance so there is time to fix any slip ups.  If I do order, I will let everyone know how it pans out.

As for Bohyme, I have never tried it either, but everyone seems to say positive things about it.  I am not sure of its orgin either, Amanda would probably be able to tell you as she deals with it  a lot.

Well, goodluck hopefully we can all find some good hair and dependable companies!!

Bohyme is a good quality hair.

I'll probably go back to ordering from Super Hair Factory or Ebonyline.  At least  you can talk to a real live person on the phone.

I order a lot of hair for clients and I can't afford to have the order be incorrect or take too long to arrive.

I was never happy with Jet Set's color 613 anyway!Ouch

Yeah i thought it was sooooo weird when I ordered from JetSet and there was no phone number!  Email is their only way of contact and they defintly don't keep up well with that!

Seems like customer service has slipped since the last time I ordered from them, before the price cut.  I hope that they can get it together soon, their customer service was top notch before then.

Oh just GREAT, ugh.  I placed a large order with them last night that I need by tomorrow.  Damnit, if I would have known this I would have stuck with the bohyme that I have been ordering from superhairfactory.com and their customer service is top notch!

Does the nightmare include them not getting your priority overnight orders to you the next day?

LongHairAddict,
About a month ago I ordered from them for the first time.  I selected the 2nd day UPS option.
Low and behold, the next morning when I got to work and checked my email there was one from them stating that the address I provided was undeliverable by UPS.  I immediately sent them one back and told them that that was absolutely wrong b/c my work has UPS deliver them packs to this address daily.  I also told them that I needed that order by the time I orginally specified.
Towards the end of the day I got an email back from them saying that for this one time they would ship out overnight since there was a slip up with the address.
So, in turn I DID receive my hair on time.

Bohyme has better blending on their colors, imo. The 10/16 I wore lost its shine before I even washed it. At the 3 day mark, curling iron use had stripped away the coating. Even in the sun the hair was matte. It also bunched and rode up on me.

I'm not overjoyed with my bodywave jetset either. There were a few issues but right out of the bag my impression was that the hair was very gold.

In the photo, I've folded the ends up to show the difference. The ends are overprocessed and grabbed color during the dye process. The ends do not match the top or center of the weft. Also, the weft is very blonde and doesn't match the overall color of the hair.

The hair is wearable ... I'll have to do a little work on the color, though, and then see how it stands up to wear.

I am still going through a hard time with them, if its not the excuse that my credit card didn't get approved (which is a lie), then the excuse that the hair I ordered was out of stock, then regarding my overnight shipment that was suppose to be guaranteed by noon today still have not arrived and its almost 4:00 so its 4  hours late for an install...now although i don't run my salon anymore, if this were the case, I would have some pretty upset clients right now at my expense..so overnight didn't even happen...this has been 3 days that I have been trying to order this hair and its still not here..sorry for sounding so bitter but customer service is very important and they for sure lack in that department.., its appears they constantly use the same excuses to delay orders and that is not good business to me...Just my 2 cents!!!

Trinity, I am really sorry to hear about your whole hair deal with them.  Maybe someone needs to send them a copy of this forum so they can see the reputation their cusomer service is bringing upon them.

It's a real shame b/c their hair (at least what I got) was very nice.

Amm, thanks for the pic!  I see what you mean about the color difference!  And the weft is a completely different color then the hair!

Hopefully they get their act together.............

Even if I sent them a copy of this, I don't think they would care...maybe because their prices have gone down, they feel they are not making as much money..its a shame because although they can't get the hair colour together, the hair is quite nice..

I finally got my order last Friday and did an install on Saturday (8 ounces) and it installed beautifully (body) however the colour was a little on the orange side (14/22) and when it arrived I was shocked at the orange tinge so I had to completely re-dye my whole head before application...

I went through so much to get the hair here that I re-dyed my whole head to match the colour!!! Just wanted to keep you posted..I do not think I will use them again and its a shame cause the hair quality is nice, I am happy i ordered 16 oz which should keep me for a while!!!

I had no idea that Bohyme was none cuticle, no wonder I had heard bad things about it (though I know some people use it all the time).  Jetset on their site claim that their hair is cuticle correct, but now I am  beginning to wonder about them too.  I have ordered samples, so will know a bit more then.  I have to have cuticle intact hair so if jetset is not, then it's on to wagman and being forced to buy a whol 1lb

Its such a shame that jetset went from all of the positive posts...to many negative posts. Something def. happened. I gave them over a month to pull it together before I pulled out of our 'almost' business relationship....things were just progressively sliding downhill.
Jetset does claim their hair has cuticle

As for Bohyme, Ive heard 'mostly' all good. Every now and then I hear a bad review of Bohyme, but not every brand works for everyone.

Some people claim Bohyme HAS cuticle, some claim it DOESNT. Apparently they remove 'at least' some of the cuticle leaving part of the cuticle intact. They claim to have a superiour technique in processing the hair,  and they must because the hair is very good. Whether it is cuticle or not(?) it has held up better than most hair that I've ever used.

Whether the hair is cuticle intact or cuticle correct is two different things...cuticle intact means it still has a cuticle....cuticle correct means the cuticles all lay in the same direction.

Sheesh....can you believe what we go through to find good hair??...LOL
You almost need to be a rocket scientist

I know Sherrie, this obsession of ours will be the end of me I'm sure.

I think that the Bohyme bad reivew are largely of the textured hair that is for african american relaxed hair, stands to reason this will have probably been through a harsh processing system to create that coarse look.  I have a package at the post office (which I am guessing may be the samples fro jetset, only then can I give a full comment.  At least I trust Wagman to supply true remi (even though is has been relaxed), so I think after all this research they are my best option for now at least

Bohymes website says theirs is remi hair, with the hairs cuticle being the same way. If it was cuticle free wouldnt it have no cuticle to be going the same way? lol or like Sherrie mentioned maybe it only has abit of cuticle. If their hair isnt really true remi (like they claim it is) hair they could be up for false advertising, anyone got a microscope??

Yes, it is so difficult to tell, the only way we know the hair is a bag of tumbleweed is when we have worn it!!  That is a price to pay as I am sure we have all been through lol,  remember the days of wearing a brush around your neck and being afraid of the slightest breeze...............

I had read somewhere on the net that to know if cuticles are intact BEFORE any install is to rub 15 or more strands between thumb and index finger if they bunch together the hair is more likely to be remi, and if it doesn't it is not likely to be.  I did try this with inidian vs some bss stuff and I kind of saw the difference but bss is so notiriously bad anyway, anyone heard of this test?

I emailed JetSet last night to ask if they have the colors I need in stock. They emailed me back today to let me know they only have it in 22" but that they would sell it to me for the 20" price.

I think I am just going to go with them because I can always dye it or go to Cheyenne and beat them with their yellow hair!!

Bwahaha.

Maybe Jetset are starting to sleep a bit.  They say that they have sent me a sample on 31st May, ok I am in the UK, but 15days for less than an oz of sample I only asked for relaxed straight, having said that Wagman took nearly 3 weeks to get my sample to me.

well it depends on how they shipped it remilover, if they shipped it economy mail it could take 4-6 weeks to get to you, since economy ships by boat...thats why I always use global priority to ship international. That way the package usually gets to the customer is 4-6 days max.

It is weird this shipping.
I ordered some jamaican black castor oil (supposed to keep hair nice n soft), anyway, it cost me around $12 to get it shipped from USA, I got it on 9th June  - they had paid $11:60 us postal service and it was sent on 6th June - so 3 days -  it is in a box and weighs just over 8 oz.

Why then are Wagman asking me for $63 for 1lb and telling me 3-5days.  I am going to mention this accross the road on the BHM board for the UK ladies in particular, I feel we are getting ripped off with shipping and I take acception to that.

Hair sisters are the biggest con with shipping, they take $30 dollars from me and have the cheek to send my packgage with the payment $9.00 visible and tell me the rest is handling, oh, so putting it in a box/bag and sellotaping it is the business I should be in then lol

I am surpised about the Bohyme not having the cuticle, it is very nice hair.  I ordered the Jet Set a few weeks ago and have installed some of the weft on the very top of my head where the sew in wouldnt work (I can get away with wearing the glue-in wefts very high up).  I've been wearing them a little over a week, and probably have washed 4 times (I've been outside, swimming, etc alot) already.  The sew-in is all Bohyme and I've been using that hair for a few months.

The Jet Set looks great but is a little wierd when I wash it.  When I am combing it while wet it seems to stretch alot and snap......it feels almost gummy, and I haven't had this problem with the Bohyme at all.  The Bohyme is also a good 3-4 inches longer than the Jet Set (both are sold as 22") and the Bohyme is fuller at the ends.  The Jet Set still feels great when it is dry.

So far my vote goes to Bohyme since it feels stronger and I really like the extra length they give you, but both brands are very nice.  The only complaint I have about Bohyme is that the popular colors seem super yellow and it is hard to find a supplier that has a wide color range.  Dying worked out fine though, so I think I'll continue to do that and wear the Bohyme.

I can attest that once I received my Jet Set it looked beautiful (in body) when the package arrived however once it was washed, it turned frizzy on me and I had a hard time taming it and had to buy all kinds of products to get the frizz out!! It is too high maintenace for me.

I have gone ahead and purchased the Bohyme from Ebony to arrive this Friday.  I ordered it in silky straight and decided that I would just curl it myself.

The funny thing is that Jet Set body did not even hold a curl what so ever!!!Maybe ordering any hair in body or volume texture is overprocessed and reacts to look more hay-like?

Anyhow, I contacted Jet Set to tell them of my problem and how I ordered 16 ounces and currently only installed 8 of them and would like to return the the other 8 ounces as I will not be installing the remainder of the Jet Set hair as it was bad quality and they have finally responded back to me saying they would take the un-used hair if it was still in the package.

I am sad after all the trouble I went through to obtain this hair that it was that poor quality but again, we will try anything for great hair.  I hope the Bohyme is everything I have heard and the silky straight will be more manageable? Just my 2 cents!!

I thought I would chime in here.  I have half a weft of 22" bohyme that I got awhile ago just to see if I liked it.  It is silky straight texture.  I cut off a piece and only used that.  I installed it with protacs.  Wore it for a bit.  I have colored it, color corrected it, colored it again, done multiple processes of "clairol metalix" to lighten it, bleached it and finally colored it again.  It is still in beautiful shape.  Silky, shiny, tangle free, smooth.  I know I could not do this to the jetset.  I have the natural body, which also lost all of it's curl.  I colored(darkened) the hand tied wefts and they are not as nice as they were to begin with.  after wearing for only a week they don't feel as silky anymore and are a little on the "puufy" side.....Anyway, I think my $$ will go towards bohyme in the future.
I wish hey(bohyme) would send out samples.  I'de like to see the finer virgin european body  I think it is??

Trinity....the only thing about the Bohyme silky straight is it is soooo straight. It has NO volume, like a bodywave. So you will need to use MORE than you would normally use to get volume. It should hold up beautifully. Ive never had a bad batch, other than a batch that shed badly once. The biggest complaint I ever hear about Bohyme is the shedding.

For now on with Bohyme I'll seal the wefts before using. But so, far Bohyme seems to be about the most consistant for blonde colors

Thanks Sherrie, I don't have a problem curling them to get body as long as they hold a curl which I assume by yours? I also wear my hair up everyday for work and straight styles are easier for me..

With the Jet Set, it not only was frizzy so hence needed a lot of product but it would not hold a curl either, so I basically could do nothing with it!!

I am anxious to get my Bohyme Friday and hopefully if it arrives on time, I will install this weekend and let you know..Now that you mentioned shedding, what should I seal the wefts with before the installation and keep in mind I am in Canada?

Thanks Sherrie..
