First, hello everyone - this is my first post although I've been a frequent lurker for awhile.
I am always looking for the best way to style my fine hair and I keep reading conflicting information. Some say hair has to be blunt cut, others say it needs layers for volume. Opinions? Perhaps it depends on the length of the cut? I currently have a chin length bob that I would like to get cut in a more "shaggy" style but I have a fear of layers!

In my experience: If you have fine hair but it is thick (in other words, a lot of it) you can do layers. I wouldn't go severe though because it may lay flat. If you have fine hair and thin (not a lot) then stay with the bob (blunt cut). If you are worried about layers, start small - like a slight layered bob. A shag cut could be disastrous unless you have the right hair. Hope this helps

Hi. I have thin fine hair. Iprefer layers. Blunt cut is too flat. Layers give some body. They are long layers and kinda of cut in a shag. It works for me. Also try the amplify gel and spray root lifter, they seem to really add body. Best of all you need a stylist that can cut thin fine hair. I had a bad one awhile ago and did a terrible job. Got a good one now. She does wonders with my hair.
