Some told me that her stylist told her that there is a hair color from Italy that can take you from dark brown hair to light blonde with no bleach of any kind. That just doesn't make sense to me. Does anyone know if this is true of any brand of hair color that does this? I think the stylist may be lying a little bit because of the negative aspects associated with bleach.

If it's not bleach then it's something with bleach in it that is sugar-coated...dark brown to light blonde needs peroxide...

Highly unlikely! You can only lighten virgin hair and when you do you wwill be able to lighten it 4 or 5 levels of lift tops. So if she's a lvl 4 dark brown she might be able to get to a level 8 but it will be a dirty blonde not a golden blonde.

Once you previously color your hair the only thing that will lighten artificial pigment from the previous haircoloring is bleach or it's sugar coated nickname so customers don't freak out...."LIGHTENER"
