Heyyy, basically i'm into mostly emo music but don't really want to go into the died black hair style (no offence intended!) so in school i've stuck with short, gelled hair as nearly every other kid did, but now i fancy standing out actually having long hair. The problem is that when i do grow my hair long i think it looks all clumpy/greasy and doesn't really hold any style to it whatsoever.

So basically heres a picture of me a while ago when my hair was a bit shorter than it is now:

meeeee!

As sad as it may sound, i've always had my mum cutting my hair! as she used to be a hairdresser, but that was a long time ago so she doesn't have a clue about any of the new styles. So i'm looking for something along the lines of

yeahh yeahh i know i'll never have the rugged good looks Tongue but hey, something along those lines with the hair would be awesome. Also if you've any suggestions i'd love to hear them! oh yeah and finally if this helps, my build is on the skinny side and i generally just wear jeans and a smart hoody or t-shirt.

Anyways, thats enough of my blabbering, any help is much appreciated..

Thanks!
Josh :)

I think you'd just have to grow it out a bit and get some layers, yours looks quite similar already but shorter. I don't know exactly how that'd be done but it shouldn't be too hard, go for it. It'll look really good on you. Don't put yourself down at all, you're cute and it'll be fine.

that picture looks strangely familier to me :P yeah obviously you know that I'm going for that hairstyle as well, I'm pretty sure its been straightened and maybe a soft wax used to get that textured effect.

oh ok thanks, but i'm just wondering if i would need to have my hair cut in a certain way to be able to get that look, or would i just need to  grow it out?
