Does natural hair grow faster than relaxed.  What's the second step to go natural?  I know the first no more relaxers but.....they say if you try not to relax anymore you hair will break off is that true.

If you think about it, your natural hair is growing all of the time.  Relaxed hair doesn't spring out of your scalp - your natural hair does.

The first step is no relaxers and the second step is transitioning or the big chop.  Transitioning is the process where you keep your relaxed hair and wait until your natural hair grows to a length that you are comfortable with. This can take a few months to two years.  The big chop is when you just cut off all of your relaxed hair, leaving you with a TWA (teeny weeny afro)

If you hold onto the relaxed hair while you are transitioning, it can start to break because of the two varying textures of hair (relaxed and natural) The point where the two textures meet is very weak.  Check out this site: http://www.motowngirl.com
