I'm looking for advice on what to do about my hair color. I dyed it with body-art-quality henna months ago, but I can't duplicate the color (even though I liked it) and I don't have the time and money right now to do the committment to maintaining a color that isn't natural every four weeks. So I was wondering how I could go back to my natural color, or what other options there were. I have a wedding I have to attend for a friend of mine at the end of July, so I have to do something about this by then.
I was hoping either to go back to my natural color (which is a reddish-brown), or to go to a subtly brighter, more coppery-red color that would be easy to maintain. By easy to maintain I mean something like ... I've heard of coloring jobs that were a system of highlighting that look totally natural, and you don't have to get them redone for 16 weeks. That would sound like heaven to me. I love my red, and hate my brown. Hence the henna.
Also, a note for anyone who doesn't know: What I know of henna (I did heavy research on it before I tried it, for this reason), is that compound henna mixes react with the metallic salts in various chemicals (such as hair dye), making nasty results. But body-art-quality henna is pure, and won't have that problem. Also, the people who use the same stuff I did said that after as many months as it has been (since Feb), it wouldn't react anyway.
