I've had extensions with the "Euroloc" or Hairloc method for about 8 weeks now.  Overall, I'm pretty happy with the way it looks but I don't want to keep them too long and damage my hair.  I'm probably going to have them removed in about two weeks and I'm kinda nervous about it.  I went in for another follow up last week with my stylist and he had to go in and cut away some of the tiny hairs that were knotting around the locs.  Now I'm kinda worried that I'm going to lose a lot of hair when he takes them out.  Has anyone had hairlocs removed, and if so, was there a lot of damage to your own hair? Also, was it painful at all? If anyone could help me out and put my mind at ease that would be great

I have had Hairlocs in for 3 months.  As a matter of fact today I had my the Hairlocs moved up and replaced some of them with the silicone lined micro-rings.

I was afraid that when the Hairlocs were removed that I would have "knots" or "dreads" under the links.  I did not have any type of damage to my hair.  My hair stylist removed the locs, combed thru the hair and moved (or replaced) the locs.

The only thing we ran into is that some of the strands of hair was unable to be replaced and we had to use "new" hair. The shoelaced tips seems to be damaged on a few and it was hard to install in back into the locs.   My stylist is going to re-tip those particular strands so we can use them during future maintenance.  I intend to keep the Hairlocs or micro-ring method.  It is working out great for me.

i do hairlocs everyday all day long,

the hairs should NEVER ever be cut- if he is skilled, and careful, they tangles or matting can come out very eaisly. the maintance shouldnt be painful either- i use a different tool then the ones hairlocs uses, its eaiser to reround and its safer for the hair,

My real hair felt very matted when I had microlinks in (just near my scalp with all the regrowth) but it was just the natural fallout and combed right out with a condition.  I loved the silicone lined ones and think it is the best method out there for strand by strand.....I had tons of growth and zero damage.
