I have been following my own hair regimen for a month now and have noticed my hair is much healthier now that I am paying closer attention to it. I even noticed the 1/2 inch growth that hair is supposed to grow in a month. However I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on making a hair care regimen more exciting ( like trying a new conditioning system, safe styling options, etc) I have a relaxer and mostly just keep my hair washed and conditioned 1 to 2 times per week, moisturized daily , wrap at night. My wrap can get boring though and I end up twiddling my thumbs until the end of the week when I can wash and conditon again. Suggestions anyone?

I agree with the roller sets -- I am now trying to reduce heat ( at least for the summer) and do only roller sets.  Then I either blow out the roots or wrap my hair.  But when I want a change, I will either bun it or do a simple updo with hair pins, there at so many options or variations just use your imagination and some great hair assessories.  Also for me, bantu knots work great on hair that hasn't been washed for a couple of days and then I will add either some type of light moisturizer/leave-in conditioner or setting lotion as I do the twists at the ends.  I ususally do this style when I get lazy and don't feel like washing my hair.  I usually try to wash 2-3 times a week, but when I get lazy and stretch to once a week updos or bantu knots are the way I go.

CONGRATULATIONS LadyFlash!!! im proud of you, i also realize, that when the hair is properyly taken care of, you really see that extar 1/2- 1 inch every month.
i definately agree with trying bantu knots, i love them but i only do them on my weaves and braids to make them wavy. maybe you can add essential oils to your leave in conditioner, such as peppermint to give your scalp that tingle and blood flow ( sista lovemegood-caisha's fotki has wonderfull ideas) maybe you can even wash everyday or try shea butter to condition, i will and am so excited to try some natural stuff!!
Keep up the comitment!!!

you have to decide that for your own hair becuase you know it best and everyone's hair is different.

What are you currently doing?
