I have edited my message b/c I realise it was really too long winded and didn't ask the questions that I really wanted answers for... or correctly asked and most importantly figured out how to fix those horribly large pics :)
Natural hair color (tried to lighted a shade or two about a year ago, but faded)
After highlighting... not soo yellow anymore.. more uniform color in highlights (used toner, which I think brought out some brassyness)
I have dark circles under my eyes, which I have always had as a child. It's hard to tell in the pictures you see above, but this picture shows it better
Okay, my goal: Lighten my hair to a more natural compliementery color, on a budget. I have read the intro section over and over and over again, and I am finally obsorbing all that important information. I feel comfortable with doing this myself, I've done foil highlights on my mother's hair for years now, & you can't tell their are not done at the salon. (But I have found out the truth about product, and the color wheel info is simply AMASING btw)
Okay I promised direct questions :).
1. Would you say I'm warm tones, or cool tones?
2. With that tone, would it be okay to go to maybe a level 5 (light brown) with level 7 or 8 highlights?
3. if not... what might look better (want something lighter then my natural)?
4. Is sally's supplies sufficiant, or would it be better to order over the net more professional products? And which ones are best recommended?
Thank ya, thank ya!

Thanks :). I love dark hair on women, Sandra Bullock is a prime example of the beauty of a brunette... but the funky dark circles under my eyes make my face look paler (also I did realise the darker hair pic I have posted was after I had been in the sun for a few days with my son, so that's why the paleness isn't so obvious)
I just really want a more natural lighter tone hair color, that will compliment my skin, eyes, ect. I just hate looking washed out. As my sister told me I believe a year ago, "You really need to dye your hair, it just looks like a big poop ball up there" (when my hair is dark, I always wear a ponytail pulling the darkness away from my face... that's where the "ball" description came from) Definatly not a friendly thing to tell someone during their depression, but it was the truth and that's what I needed then, as well as now

Thanks! I'd love to be a brunette if my complection and under eye issue wasn't a problem... it has a very sophisticated look to being a brunette... unfortunatly I look like a washed up hag LOL.

Sorry, I don't have the answers to your questions. Just wanted to say, I like the blonde on you too! Can't you just pat in a little foundation makeup over those circles? That's what I do -- works like a charm. Just dabbing though, not caking on. Dab of foundation and pat of mineral makeup ...

First, to answer your questions:
1) You have warm tones. Typically, if you answer "warm" to 2 out of these three--natural hair color, eyes & skin, then you are warm. You appear to have brown eyes and brown hair=warm.
2 & 3) That sounds like a good idea to me. Although an easier route instead of all over color would be just to add highlights.
4) Sallys products are professional products.
As for the undereye circles--I was "born" with them too. There's tons of undereye consealers out there. What you need is a "heavy" one--dermablend makes a good one. You get what you pay for--go for department store quality. I believe Sears carrier dermablend. A lightweight consealer won't work--you need heavy. Something with a yellow undertone will conteract with the red and blend perfectly. I use one by Clinique, but stocked up once they discontinued it. Undereye circles shouldn't be an issue whatsoever--it's an easlily fixable problem.
Edited to say--make sure the undereye consealer you buy is formulated for under the eyes--if not, it may end up being too drying or too oily which will cause more problems.
Good luck and post some after pics!!

Thanks Alayney and pstrat for commenting ! Your responces have been a BIG help!!
To start the under eye circles. I have used every type of consealer I can find. Nothing works.. (I wear Clinique also)... I am going to try the dermablend one you were talking about (I work in the mall, so picking something up is a little TOO EASY for me heheh)... The only thing I have found that works is to apply eye shadow a few shades lighter then my skin tone ALL OVER my eye, top & bottom. But what makes it soo difficult is my eyes are sunkin in... which then leaves the chance of shadows... with dark hair, I can cover the purple tone in the skin under the eyes, but unless I have light shining directly on my face, the shadow is more intense. It seem with lighter hair, instead of obsorbing all the light around me it reflects it, so that way the shadows aren't so bad. All the pictures above show me at the end of the day the way I wear my makeup.. As you can tell, I can hide them pretty well with light directly on me, BUT if you put me in the average setting, my circles are more pronounced... I guess another option would just to attach a helmet to me head that points light on my face that way no matter where I'm at, I have perfect lighting LOL
I thought I was warm, but despritatly hoping I was cool tones. Some places say hazel eyes are warm, and some say they are cool. And I have a pink pigment in my skintone (at least I think so) that's usually one or the other.
I am going to do something soon to my hair, the toner really did bring in a lot of brassyness, but before I do anything I want to make sure my hair is in good condition. I don't want to overprosses my hair. I working on deep conditioning and trying to get as much of that toner out as possible. It definatly made the blonde a brassy brown.
pstrat when you say just add highlights... basicly leave my hair the way it is, and just add even more highlights to what I have? Or do you mean do like two tone highlights? Just wondering... Idealy I would like to be able to wear my hair at the lightest color possible without looking like a moron LOL. Thanks... and when I do do something more to my hair, I will definatly post pics!!!!
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE RESPONCES!!!

Hi again--I'm actually a little confused--is your most recent pic the one with you brunette, or the one with you with the blond highlights? I thought it was the brunette one...if so...you can add maybe a few different color highlights...I'm not sure--the more blond you go with the highlights, the more maintenace you'll need anyway, KWIM? That's my story--got brown hair, a little lighter than yours, and the hairdresser was putting in bleached highlights which were nice BUT then I'd have to get them touched up so frequently. So for myself I was thinking of doing some highlights just a few shades lighter than my natural color. But I like blond, too. It's too complicated isn't it??
Anyway, I do like the blond highlights on you--and I think you're right--I think they do brighten you up. I do think in the pic they are a little heavy, though.
Oh, and about the tones...you CAN be more than one. Typically if you're 2 out of 3 then you go with whatever one is more dominant. I think your skin is a cool tone.
Back to the highlights...another thing is that if you have no grey hairs--you will have less maintenance than if you were coloring ALL your hair--you'll have more subtle grow-out at the roots as opposed to a heavy line.
And the under eye circles...yeah, try the Dermablend. Have the salesperson do a demo on you on how to use it. I have BIG blue eyes that are ALSO deep set as well--have red pigment ALL AROUND my eyes. You would NEVER know, though, the way I fix 'em up with consealer And I AM and old hag, lol--just a few years away from 40. I'm getting good at knowing all the tricks to staying young looking.
Good luck and post updates!!!!!!!

Sorry for the confussion, the blonde highlights was the recent. I wanted something more natural looking... not so yellow-gold... and it was way too heavy b/c at first I had my lovely mother do the pluck through the hat thing, and my WHOLE head was nothing but tiger stripes, so I had to go through and foil my whole head cause it was that bad, only one part hid it, but if my hair moved just a touch, you'd see em!! So I was wanting to know what I could do to fix it... I don't like the "golden blonde" on me.. I don't mind the maintance.. I am a huge DIY'er.. From sewing, decorating, wood working, glass etching, to my hair ... I have fun... and I enjoy the challenge. I also enjoy the research! So the maintance is not a difficult task for myself.
As far as the warm/cool thing, I had considered bleaching my WHOLE HEAD... and then going with a dark blonde tone from there, but scared I'll look like a moron But I'm really scared to go the blonde route, although deep inside I'm embarrased to say... I REALLY WANT IT LOL.
Thanks, got to work right on time, & had to close so wasn't able to swing by sears, probably will tomorrow though!
Thanks again!
