Does anyone here do Henna Glossing as opposed to the full several hour Henna treatment?

I'm really close to jumping into henna-ing my hair, but feeling a little insecure. The henna glossing - less dye, less time in hair - seems like it would be a good introduction.

Just wondered what anyone's experience or thoughts were.

Yes, I have henna glossed.   Mind you, I also do the full head henna and have red hair already, so I can't really tell you what change it does to my colour.   The results for me are just a brighter red and amazing condition and shine (as henna always does for me).

If you're not sure about adding any colour, then mix your henna paste with a good amount of amla or cassia and then use yoghurt to mix it with.  leave the mix on your hair for 30 mins or so.  You could also use a table spoon or two of henna paste and then mix that into some conditioner and leave on for a similar short amount of time.

Have fun experimenting!!!

Thanks Rini. What I'm basically wanting is hair in better condition and perhaps a little color. People insist henna makes hair stronger (I now have mental images of my hair lifting weights and other forms of exercise while I sleep...)

I'm leery of winding up "too red". Several months ago, in a moment of stress and stupidity, I dyed my hair auburn. It was a little brighter than I intended it to be and when my boss saw me the next morning, he stood in the door of my office and said, "Good uh, oh, morning, Grace...I'll, umm, be in...uh...in my office". He normally is very articulate and spent the next two days looking at my hair like an alien had landed on my desk.

Yes, I'm using body art henna for this project. I've already read about possible problems with low-quality henna and previously stupidly dyed hair.
