I dyed my hair with Clairol's Nice'N Easy Natural Black hair dye about 4 months ago or so. I thought it would fade out a little, even permanant hair dyes never stay in my hair well. I didnt mind it but then my roots starting showing, and it looks horrific since they are light brown. So about a month and a half ago I tried to dye it lighter, but I didnt know that it wouldn't help. Now my hair is three colors and it is truly awful. I have NO money to get professional help. I want to try and lighten the black and get all my hair close to the same color. I was wondering if anyone knows of anything that I could do to make it look better.

I suggest you to try colorfix, which is a color stripper. It will take out black and make your hair dark orangey to orange. Then re-dye with a semi or demi permanent color close to your color. I went black earlier this year (January) and then I went dak red. Then I went blonde recently. Colorfix works wonders for dyed black and red hair.
